We've just come from the track at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, and it was another excellent race with close racing throughout in the Champion Motorsports Mustang Challenge. We also saw another theme continue with Devin Obrien turning in a stellar drive for a win. His 3rd of the season in six races. Congratulations on a great drive Devin.

Obrien would lead all 18 laps of the race after starting 3rd on the grid behind Charles Stout (pole), and Robert Woloschuk in P2. But after first lap trouble for Charles Stout, Devin would go from 3rd to 1st and never look back. He would have some close racing with Woloschuk, for a while, but Robert would eventually have trouble and fall to the back of the field in what was a dissapointing end to a good run for the new driver to CMS who continues to show lots of potential.

By race end, Charles Stout would overcome his early race troubles to come back for a 2nd place finish, and David Anderson would have his best run of the season with a nice 3rd place run. David and Charles had some excellent close racing in the mid portion of the race, and he would really have to earn the podium finish holding off a hard charging Simon Hill in the closing laps. The drivers would finish side by side at the finish line on the final lap (pictured above).

We are now complete with half of the races of the season. Devin OBrien with his three victories has a commanding lead in the Championship and looks like he will be very hard to catch. Behind him though there is a fierce battle for 2nd place with four drivers within 10 points of one another led by Tom Cinnamon and Charles Stout, with David Anderson and Dan Burke closely behind.
