    Default Auto clutch penalty?

Is this built into the sim? I have been using paddle's in the Miata and always wondered why the "shift" sounded like it does. Switched to clutch and shifter and it seems to make a subtle difference.

Also, is sequential considered the same as using the paddle's?

For anyone who uses Auto Blip and/or Auto Clutch, there is penalty by second - can't remember how long.

Sequential considered the same as paddles - yes, it's similar concept.

I'm waiting for Todd Cannon to release CST's newest gated shifting (which is pretty soon). So I can use the shift on NASCAR series along with other vehicles that uses gated shifting.

I use Auto Clutch in iRacing -- and depending on the car I use Auto Blip on some and dont use it on others -- just depends ...

I dont even know what auto blip is. Running the mustang at Mid Ohio turning 1:42xxx a lap with clutch. Switched to sequential and I'm down to 1:40xxx

In real car, when you tried to downshift and you'll have hard time putting shift in. With auto blip, you will be able to downshift without any difficult. That's why there is time penalty if you turned it on.

Yep, to match the RPM more so to not get any wheel hop/spin in downshifting "early" as for engine brake effect. (is my words)
Was on iRacing yesterday with an old friend Steve Boyer who is an "all content" user....wow lol Trust him he has been in iRacing land from '08, he is and has always been a heel toe guy and told me yesterday that he wishes there was a
"forced" H pattern shift mode (so to say), to where no one could use the auto clutch or blip.

As it is now, there is no penalty for using the shift aids. I guess that is true??

Im going by memory here but i think there is generally .2-.5 (slower) difference in lap times when using aids. But unless your at the tippy top Div 1 top splits the difference is negligable.

There are some good threads on the iRacing boards discussing just that - ill see if i can find one.

I see now. Ya, it's a time penalty if you use the aids. Well that is good.

What my buddy Steve said confused me. He wishes iRacing would set it up so "Forced H-Pattern" would be an option to have the server. Doing heel - toe is rough for me...but blip the gas on downshift is kinda easy.
