For you NASCAR fans....

SPEED to air COT Specials on Tues and Wed: SPEED will air a pair of 30-minute specials from the NASCAR "Car of Tomorrow" test sessions from Bristol on February 28 and March 1 at 7:00pm/et. "NASCAR is expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 cars to participate ... with some teams bringing more than one car," said Frank Wilson, SPEED VP of Production. "This is a huge test that will set the table for the rest of the NASCAR race season ... how teams handle this car will go a long way toward determining the 2007 Nextel Cup championship." John Roberts will host the SPEED coverage with analysis from Larry McReynolds and reporting from Bob Dillner.(SPEED PR)(2-26-2007)

Which year is this? Is this the car of the day after tomorrow?

Seriously, is this going to be on Tues & Wed, or Feb 28 & Mar 1 (Wed & Thurs)? I could look it up myself but this is more fun

C'mon Tim,

Once we get the COT and mandated shocks and gears, the only difference will be the decals and the motor...

I can see it now, teams show up on Friday, get issued their COT chassis with all the NA$CAR mandated bit and pieces, drop in their engine, wrap the car in their sponsors paint and head to the track to fine tune it for that particular track. The teams then turn the COT back in after the race, sans engine.

Think of all the $$$ that would save the teams, ooooopppssss! I forgot, NA$CAR would charge the team for the opportunity to participate in their nationally commercialed TV coverage, just about what the teams spend on chassis research and development now, PLUS a 15% restocking fee. NA$CAR could then hire all those out of work chassis specialists for pennies on the dollar...

Oh, and another thing, GORE, defined as having you insides ripped out by an inraged bull or other bovine animal gifted with horns... Which is what AlGore did with the truth in 'Unintended Consequences'...

Woohoo!!! Get em Henry!!! That bullshit "documentary" which isn't based on a single piece of truth, but built entirely on assumptions and theories...and that dickhead Gore is about the biggest hypocrite as far as the environment goes anyway!!!

Carbon Credits - shell game whereby governments tell corporations and industries how much they are allowed to pollute a yearly basis using tons of CO2 equivelence (greenhouse gases) - carbon credits - A firm can then do things to reduce their carbon output to below their allotted limit and sell their excess to companies that pollute in excess of the government set limit. This was all set out in the Kyoto round in 1997 and went into effect in 2005. The EU is leading the way with this and their are currently discussing in Brussels to place a carbon tax on air travel, that, of course, will be passed on the traveller. Less popular is the application of a personal carbon tax but still being discussed. This would force you to pay to buy carbon credits based upon your car's rated emissions and how much you drive and how much electricity and gas you use to operate your home...

We'll make the world a cleaner place if we have to make everyone live in the stone age with no fossil fuel use at all...
