And this one, which I think of a perfect "Monaco Grand Prix" tune, fanfare and all, Herb Alpert's "1980": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nwy0rQEA4g

It was originally recorded (but was not used, due to the boycott led by the US) as promo music for the 1980 Summer Olympic games.

In my minds eye, the green flag would drop at the 0:28 moment in the song...and the pack would all race up to the first (now tight) right hander at Sainte Devote...

...whereupon there would be a big accident.

If you watched Monaco GP's in the mid/late seventies into the early eighties, you saw one every year...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNn-TFIuGr0 ...like this famous one from...

    ,,,wait for it...

    ...1980.

Inspired by rewatching Star Trek (2009) and listening to some great old Beastie Boy albums

Was just listening to some classic Boston, "Foreplay/Longtime" in the car. Now settled in for day two of my 4 day "Weekend" catching up on the 4th V8 Supercar race at Austin.

    Miles Davis, nice!

SJradio is featuring a 1970's concert by Chicago at Carnegie Hall, recorded over a 4 night span. If you like horns this is for you, as these guys really blow.
