Lightbulb Robert Harrison as Michael Schumacher Wins 2005 US Grand Prix!

WOW, it was a race we will never forget ....what an event. Details coming soon, race stories here.

congrats to our Community Leaders for their participation in this event and congrats to the Podium Finishers, Robert Gunny Harrison as Michael Schumacher, Charlie Gog as Rubens Barichello, and Ricky Proffer as Tiago Monteiro in the Jordan! ...

There will be a race story and screens up soon with details on what went down. Lets just say it was almost as wild as the REAL 2005 US Grand Prix. Almost every man in the field was way to aggressive on setup (boost and radiator), and it was something to remember ...

Congrats Gunny, Charlie and Ricky for outsmarting the rest of us ...

Story is up from last nights race, and it is a scary and identical finish/comparison to what actually happened in 2005. Read about it here ...

Post Michael Schumacher Played by Robert Harrison Wins 2005 US Grand Prix

Over the past month we have had a lot of build up here at the Champion Community to our F1 HERO Race, and last night was the big event. It certainly lived up to the expectations of being a very memorable race here that we will not ever forget. To set the stage, the event was unique in that it was invitation only to our "community leaders" and most active members of the Champion Forums . There were also a few special invitations extended as well. In the event every participant would actually drive and role play as their F1 Hero from the 2005 Formula One Season. We decided to run the 2005 US Grand Prix at Indianapolis to see what "could have happened" As much as the race in 2005 F1 has become infamous, our race had a similar wild twist to it.

Michael Schmacher's Ferrari Driven by Champion Member Robert "Gunny" Harrison Wins at Indianapolis (shown above)

Thirteen drivers would start the event. Juan Pablo Montoya (driven by Jeff Chandler) was on the pole for the race with Jarno Trulli (Rich Lee) on the front row as well. At the start of the race Montoya/Chandler would jump out to a huge lead and look to be in a positoin to dominate the race over the first 15 laps. Early trouble for Nick Heidfeld (Mike Tribble) and Takuma Sato (John Roussetos) saw those two drivers out of the race first with damage.
Settling in up front behind Montoya's (Chandler) McLaren were some very fast cars of Michael Schumacher (Robert Harrison), Mark Webber (Rob Lowe), and others. However as everyone started to make their first pit stops and come in for tires and fuel an odd trend began to happen. One by one it seemed as if everyone's engine was letting go. It became apparent after a few of the blow-ups that the majority of the field had gotten way to agressive on engine boost package, and it had caught up to them and spoiled the engines. As this was happening the drivers that were either still on the track or already had pitted successfully began to back down their boost settings and lap times to go into engine conservation mode. This series of events would put Schumacher (Harrison) in the lead, being chased by 3 remaining cars. The Ferrari Team Car of Rubins Barrichello; driven by Charlie Gog, as well as the Red Bull car of Christian Klien (Paul Rein), and finally the Jordan of Tiago Monteiro; played by Ricky Proffer.

Charlie Gog driving Rubins Barrichello's Ferrari would Finish P2 at Indianapolis

Each of these four remaining drivers had not been as agressive on the engine and were able to go further. Problems would eventually lead to Klien (Rein) falling out of the race, and that would secure a podium for the Jordan of Tiago Monteiro/Ricky Proffer. Now it was a matter of which Ferrari would win. Schumacher/Harrison had a comfortable lead, but something was going wrong with his brakes in the car as they appeared to be deteriorating to a point that was fatal for the car. Rubins Barrichello/Charlie Gog in the 2nd Ferrari began to close the gap in what looked like it could be a good finish for the win. However, with only a few laps remaining in the race Barrichello's Ferrari had a wild self crash coming onto the front Stretch, that would destroy the car as Gog would get it free, and end the night of the Ferrari. This would wrap it up for Schumacher and Harrison and the win would be theirs!
So, as much as it was a wild, and never to be forgotten race in 2005 at Indianapolis -- our race wasn't much off. We didn't have the Tire Debacle, but when it was all said and done, only a single car of the starting 13, would actually cross the Start/Finish line to take the Checkered Flag. It was the same car that won the race in 2005, and we couldn't help but think that our outcome had a linked omen of some sort.

Tiago Monteiro (Ricky Proffer) finished 3rd in our Race. A great finish for the Jordan (above) a scary comparison to 2005

All in all everyone had a great time, and agreed it was certainly worth the time spent. Here are our Results ...
and by Comparison, you can view here for how we stacked up against the F1 2005 Race
To show you how this had to have been, our results (which were not planned were)

and in 2005, you will see the podium was EXACTLY the same :)

Finally we want to thank everyone that was a part of this race; not only for their participation, but also for everything they have done to help our community be strong over the years and make it what it is today -- a fun and great place to be a part of. Thanks Guys!

That is strange after it all sorted out that we finished in the same order as the real race! Twilight Zone stuff!

That was a pretty fun race!
Man I'm glad I went with a conservative setup, my only mistake was the brake ducts. I had no brakes (and I mean none! I could press on the brake and still accelerated as if I werent stepping on them) for the last two laps.
    That was fun.
Yea weird that we finishe exatly like back in 2005 and I did the last minute switch to Ferrari!
