Does your team get the guy you want? I am Cowboys and Titans fan, (Titans have #3). I am hoping they draft vince young with it .... I want the Cowboys to get a solid Offensive Lineman with #1.

I bet the Cowboys go defense but I can't believe the Texans are taking Williams instead of Bush!! They must have been having a really hard time gettting together on a contract for Bush or something.
I can see them taking Williams... face it, the NFL draft is a crapshoot for the most part. 40-50% of can't miss first rounders end up as "misses". Bush and Williams could both turn out to be great players, or one or both could end up being busts. Sure, Bush has great athletic ability, but for some reason, I think he's going to end up being a bit "fragile", and I don't see him being a 25+ carry a game type of RB. I could see him turning out to be no more than a Desmond Howard or Rocket Ismael type. When I played in college, my roommate was a great running back, started as a true freshman, and I think lead the Big Ten in rushing for all four years. Was 6'1" or 2", 210 lbs, fast, etc. The Packers drafted him in the first round, and he was an average player fighting to lock up the #1 RB position for a couple years, but then faded, and was out of the league in a few years. Another offensive lineman on our team was taken in the first round by the Giants, and started at center for about 9 or 10 years until he suffered a bad eye injury and retired.
Then again, D-linemen taken #1 overall have turned out to be 90% busts, and 10% average. I think there have been like 8 D-linemen taken #1 overall, and all were pretty much busts, and one guy had a couple decent years, but nothing more than average.
The Bears have more good players on their rosters from rounds 2 or 3 to 6th rd. than 1st rounders. Not just in pure numbers obviously, but evfen in percentages. The majority of "great" players in the league weren't first rounders.
Saints take Reggie Bush

wow, Vince Young... I thought Tennessee was going Leinert for sure.Personally I think Leinert won't be anything great in the NFL
Shit, do the Jets take Leinert now, or stick with taking OL D. Ferguson? And if they do with Ferguson, does Leinert start dropping?? The Packers need a QB, but if they take leinert, they're admitting that Rogers last year in the 1st round was a mistake (which he WAS... he's horrible!). Spending 2 1st rounders in a row on QB will get their GM lynched!! LOL (I LOVE it... Bears fan living in WI... love to see tha Packers fans on the ledge!! lol)
If the Jets don't take Leinert, there WILL be a riot in Radio City Music Hall!! hehe
EDIT: wow, Jets fans must be getting smarter, cuz they liked Ferguson!Leinert is going to drop... the Packers won't take him, and San Fran took Alex Smith #1 overall. Lions just signed TWO QBs, so his last shot in the top 10 is Oakland (who wanted Vince Young), and if not Oakland, then Arizona (the sinkhole of budding NFL careers!)

I think Leinart would be a good fit at Arizona at #10. They have Warner for another year and they have made some good pickups this offseason. With James and those receivers, Leinart could be a good fit there.
I agree with you John. Super Bowls are not won on the first day of the draft. Tomorrow is where the good teams get better for the long haul.
John, who was your roommate in college?
I have to wait until pick #24 for the Bengals!!! I guess I could tune in about 11:30 PM tonight to see who they get!!
I think this is the latest the Bengals have picked since I can remember (usually they are 1st or 2nd pick!!!)
Vince Young will be great I think!!! Glad to see the Titans take him!!!He's a winner that's all that matters ...

yep, if not Oakland, Leinert will end up in AZ. They have some talent at WR, that's for sure!

I think he'll be good too... needs some time to develop, but if they don't bring back McNair this year, let Volek start until Young is ready.Originally Posted by davidan
I sure hope they find a way to keep McNair, but it doesnt look good.
