Arrow World Div ILMS GT[C] Wins For Hein Houweling & Paul Hamilton

    Standings
The ILMS World Division had a good showing for it`s season 2 GT event at the Brianza Italian Grand Prix circuit.
Brian Farmer was on pole for the start of this event, but Hein Houweling took the lead later and went on to win in the GT class and overall.
Tanner Berry ran a very competitive race and was the holder of the 3rd spot GT podium.
The GTC class had three entries this week and was dominated by the very competitive GTC driver Paul Hamilton who finished 1st in class, followed closely by Greg Haley, both divers finishing on the same lap.
Joe Owens still holds the top GTC standing, but has a one race advantage,so it remains to be seen if he can hold that place.

We will be back at the same venue for the next 3 Class event, which is on Sunday 19th Sept.
Later in this thread Tanner Berry has posted some cool race pics, but here is a pic of the start:

Well i saw the F1 race at Monza and i couldnt stay away , found the vette and an old setup it did 48s and 49s so i thought it would be enough to tease some of you , and have some fun.

Qualify was rubbish ,but as always i dont care as long im not at the end of the grid.
The racestart was again fantastic my sweet vette blasted away and of we went to make a 10 s lead , thats about the time when my sick daughter came in first time i missed a brakepoint and did a spin got away just intime to see a ferrari in the rearviewmirror and the girl went back to bed :-) , but only for a short time she returned and my focus was gone so was the race for me .

Grats to the winners and all others it was fun .

    Cheers Steen
Waiting for my Guzzi to get on the street

Well again I have to thank everyone for alowing me to download the new skin pack so I could race!

Made it to the race with 3 min. remaining in warm up so not much to say about Qualy....
The race start began really well for me. Went from last to 6th at the 1st turn but not before I hit the wall hard at the braking zone. Don't know what happened I hit the brakes and the car turned sharp to the left right into the wall. After that I tried to just stay on track and get warmed up. I had not driven since wed. night. Planned on hanging with Hein, since I knew he was fast, and move up with him. He went wide and I got around him but was still not warmed up. Especially with my braking! Finally caught up with Scott and we raced for several laps. When we were both going thru Ascari and lapping a GTC car the GTC car made a slight mistake which made Scott hit his brakes a bit but I was already on the power hard and was unable to avoid Scott. I hit him in the back and he spun into the wall. I waited for him and followed him into the pits. I knew my race for the podium was over so when we came back on track I just put my head down and tried my best to stay on the same lap as the leaders. Unfortunatly I had to pit at the end for a splash of fuel so the leaders got by me. Feel lucky to have finished 4th!

That was me. I saw you guys coming and was paying more attention to the mirror than the road ahead, got way too much curb lost it. Managed to keep the car on the track but not before I caused carnage behind from you guys trying to avoid me. Very sorry about the poor driving.

I was really excited to run this track, seemed to feel more at home with it than Road America. Qualified 3rd and the plan was to just run this one CLEAN for once, and I'm glad I can say that I only had one small tiff with a wall early on while Hein was putting pressure on me. I knew I couldn't hold him off for long but I wasn't going to submit sooner than I had to After that it was just a race to keep 4th over the finish line.
Then Steen retired (he warned us it was likely) and I was looking at a podium position! GREAT now I've got all this pressure! But hey the laps must be counting for something as I was able to pedal this one over the line

I had a scary 2nd half though as I came out of the pits, Neal was behind by about 35 sec with about 40 mins left in the race, and with a quick calculation in my head I estimated that he runs about 1-1.5 seconds faster per lap than I do, and that put him right on my ass by the time the checker came around, and thats IF I ran smooth with no mistakes :S
Lap after lap, he was reeling me in. 20 mins left, 20 sec behind. 15 mins left, 15 secs behind 11 mins left, 11 secs behind haha, it was getting very stressful as I REALLY wanted a podium on this track! Then I heard such magnificent words in my ears from the spotter.
"Neal Johnson, is going for a pitstop"... HUGE sigh of relief. Drove it home for a 3rd that was well deserved, probably the best driving I've managed to throw down so far.

GTC cars were excellent with holding their line and being predictable, and whenever they moved over to give room made sure we had lots of warning. Thumbs up!

    STOKED for Thursday!

Not your fault Paul. I was trying to setup a pass on Scott and everything happened at the wrong time. Always the guys passing's responsibility to pass clean....
