The CMS LMS World division GT series kicked off it's 2011 season with a bang Sunday at the Daytona Road Course. It was the 1st time the drivers had driven this years cars in anger and it was obvious these guys were itching to get back in the cockpits after what seemed like an extremely long off season.

Team Barista's Brian Farmer decided to take the new LMPC car out for an official shake down and wound up taking pole, fast lap, and victory, getting the over all and LMPC class win.

Rookie Val Hoggard brought home his LMPC 2nd, and Joe Owens rounded out the LMPC class with 3rd.

Hein Houweling took home a 1st in the GT class but had to work for it as Tanner Berry was looking very strong in 2nd, followed in 3rd by his father Rob Berry. Another rookie in the field Jerry Buker managed to bring it home for 4th in his CMS LMS debut.

The GTC class saw an awsome battle between Paul Hamilton and yet another rookie here at CMS Nick Newcombe. Paul led much of the battle but was eventually overtaken by the rookie and had to settle for 2nd, with returning driver Martin Koehler finishing 3rd.

In the post race interview Famer was quoted as saying "This LMPC is just a blast to drive, and I cant think of a better way to celebrate my birthday. What a present!"
