Arrow Steen Franta Wins At Road Atlanta GT Challenge.

The ILMS World Division of CMS was at the famous Road America track for it`s GT Challenge event on Sunday 26th Sept 2010.
This track is noted for the many elevation changes along it`s length, the most noted being the blind right hand turn after the bridge,it is a sharp climb up to the bridge and the actual bend is at the top, then its a drop down into the fast turn onto pit straight. The pit entry point is also down hill from the bridge to the right.
A rolling start was used for this event and the drivers got off to a very clean start as the event went to green.
The OA and GT podium went to Steen Franta, who held of a challenging Hein Houweling, with Brian Farmer finishing in the GT 3rd place.
James Sharkus took the GTC win, followed closely by Paul Hamilton, with Joe Owens bring it home for the GTC 3rd place spot.

Knew this one wouldn't go over too smooth as I drove the track for the first time during practice lol. I did my best but eventually as I was coming over the last hill towards start finish, must have got into the air behind my dad because the car just came right out from under me and I slid into the pit lane barrier. I managed a solid barrel roll and luckily landed shiny side up! Pitted and got fixed, or so I thought! I was still pouring smoke out the pipes and 5 laps later threw a rod out the rear quarter and injured a spectator

I rode with everyone else for the rest of the race and played with camera angles etc. Figured out some pretty wicked tricks, I'll be recording a bunch of footage from his season and making a video soon, I'll keep you guys posted

Thought I had a decent setup for today but boy, did I find out different. Gears way too tall, handling way too tight. Used up the front tires after only about half a fuel load. Then in the second half of the race, I lost it coming out of the esses and clobbered what I *thought* were the foam markers blocking the other part of the course but turned out to be concrete. Ouch, babe... Knocked off the air dam and flattened a tire -- crawled around followed by an 80 second pitstop pretty much put an end to the evening's festivities. Ended up a lap down to The Shark and probably lucky to do even that well.

Had some humble pie for supper and went right back in to completely re-do my setup. I think I had some success and hopefully won't embarrass myself too badly on Thursday.

I had fairly good race tonight even though my car was really low on top speed at the gearing high end [working on that before thursday].
Just drove a steady race trying to make sure that the GT cars got by safely and pitted at the 3/4 mark with no damage,so just took fuel and tyres and continued.
With a lot more speed I could really get to like these cars, its there for the grabs but do not want an unstable car even if faster.
Congrats to Steen,James and the podiums.

Had a blast. Really fun to drive Viper again. Setup was again quite quickly made, but thanks to SUE managed to get a drivable one for race. Q setup was basically just soft tyres on and less fuel

Took the start carefully in order to avoid any trouble. All went well until had a spin and fell back a little. After that, had some good racing with Tanner. Really close and high speed thrill! Great fun!

My race ended too early; noticed in turn before the long straight, that my brakes felt funny. Didnīt think much about it but took a glimpse on xd plug-in(I think it is called that, gives you all kinds of info about the car in screen) and it showed my left front brake had failed. Well, about 2 sec later I noticed when starting to brake from 280Km/h to the last chicane and car just went wild and to the wall Donīt know why this happened as I checked brake wear from Motec and estimated failure was suppose to happen in lap 120 or so. Oh well, it was fun anyway!

Had a great time driving the GTC's again!

First I would like to thank Paul for his courtious driving.
Sorry to see you in the barrier, I spun in that corner 3 times, so I feel your pain!

There were only 3 of us in GTC so there wasn't alot of racing except for the last 10 minutes when I caught up to a damaged Rob Berry and we some incredible laps.

I was laughing nonstop for 10 minutes!

I would catch him in the corners and he would pull away down the straights. only to be caught again in the essses, back and forth, back and forth.
    Great fun!

Congrats to Steen and all podiums!

Yep James that was fun! Had a stable set and just wanted to finish to get some experience here. That big dog would eat down the straights, but cornering here can be fatal...lol. I was watching you gradually catching me, and knew it would be a tag team match when you caught me. Trying to let faster cars pass would get me offline and the spins started on the second fuel load. It was fun falling down getting back up again. Looking forward to a large field here Thursday, sure need to make improvements thru the corners tho. Wicked elavation around this place, love it!

From 2nd on the grid it seemed fine. I did notice the pace car flickering, disapearing, reapearing a lot. Since I was 2nd on the grid and have my details set to show 15 cars Im not sure why. Maybe thats normal for rfactor pace car?

Question. Once we get the green can we pass, or is everyone suppose to wait till they cross the start/finish line?
