Results are in from the 2011 Champion Motorsports Gold Series Special Event Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The event was a lot of fun and a big success, and we'd like to congratulate all of our winners in the race, by class, and also our two special prize winners as well!



Davis Braun was the overall race winner and also winner in the P1 Class piloting his Peugeot 908 HDI to an impressive victory and leading 93 of the 99 laps in the race. Dwayne Jans would take the class win in the P2 Class, and a 4th place overall with a solid run in the Acura ARX-01. Finally in our Prototype Classes, Marcel Penzkofer, continued to be very impressive in the LMPC with a win and very fast 7th place overall.

Looking at the GT class, it was a large and competitive field, especially in GT1 where Daniel Gomes would take his Corvette C6R for a solid drive and get the class victory. A race made even more impressive by him having to start at the back of the field for a race infraction penalty the previous week at Laguna Seca. The GT2 class win would go to Troy Dalton in the Spyker. Troy has been very consistent and fast all season and this week at Road Atlanta was no exception.

We would also like to congratulate our participation prize winners for this event. Congrats to Chris Hamilton for finishing the race and winning Forza Motorsport 4 for the XBOX 360. Additionally congratulations to Dan Minges for finishing as well and winning rFactor 2. Great work guys and congratulations!

The next Gold Series event won't be until after the new year, when we will run a very fun and always hyped Rolex 2.4. The race has become a staple at CMS and was what started the Gold Series so we can't wait for February to get here so we can get on the track again with another Gold Series Race! Thanks everyone for participating this time at Petit Lemans, and it was great to see another large field in the race. We appreciate the support.
