With the end of our inaugural season in sight now, PoR continues to put together consistently good performances. We placed 13th and 15th for weeks 46 and 47 of the Rallyesim Championships and continue to close in on 23rd place for the year.

At the Rali Casinos do Algarve in week 46, Bryan finished 2nd on SS14 - the highest overall stage finish for the team this year. He was beaten out of the top spot by the slimmest of margins - 0.05 seconds. Bryan was also the only PoR driver to break the century mark in scoring for Week 46. Together he, Rick and Martin scored 226 of our 310 points - all at Rali Casinos do Algarve. Also, Martin collected his first points for the team by finishing 27th in the Portuguese Rally Cup standings and 10th in class A6 in his VW Polo GTI. Congrats Martin!

Steven, Greg, and Aaron all had good finishes in week 46 as well. Steven finished 5th in group N3 at the Rallye du Condroz of the Belgian Championship. His fourth place in the Fiesta ST Trophy standings was good enough to earn him a tie for 2nd place for the year. Though they didn't get much of a reward, Greg and Aaron endured a grueling Finish to the Hungarian Championship. Greg brought his Punto S1600 home 6th in class A6 and Aaron was 10th in the always competitive N4 class, driving a Prodrive Impreza.

In week 47, Justin and Steven both put in good performances at the Rallye du Var, which was the final round of the France Tarmac Rally Championship. Justin mastered the nearly continuous rain in his Evo IX, placing 37th overall and 4th in class A8. Steven also finished 4th in class, driving a Citroen C2R2Max. Together, they collected nearly 300 points for the stable.

Bryan and Greg also got good results in the France Cup and Madagascar Championships. Bryan was again inside the top 50 overall and 6th in class N4. Greg finished 9th in class R3 at the gravel Rallye des Litchis, battling back from overheating problems that forced his early retirement on leg 2.

If you've followed our recaps here at Champion Motorsports, you've probably noticed the chart of our weekly points totals. While that graph, with its ups and downs, is interesting to look at, it doesn't tell much of a story about how far we've come as a team this year. So, to illustrate the progress we've made, I worked up another graph. This one shows our weekly finishing position among the 45 stables that compete in the championship, along with a linear trend line. Clearly, we've improved a lot over the course of 40+ weeks. We've gone from an average placing of about 27th in our 5th week to around 17th now. Nearly all of the guys on the team are in their first year on RSRBR, so there's still lots of room for improvement as we gain experience and knowledge and look to next year.

Speaking of knowledge, I'd also like to express our sincere thanks to Stelian Chepilevski, who is one of the top drivers on RSRBR, a member of the S.A.M.S. stable, and also a rally driver in Bulgaria and Greece. Stelian has recently been sharing car setups and technical advice with us and it has been a great help as we get ready for 2011. Thanks again Stelian, we very much appreciate having you along and hope you find some interesting racing here at CMS!
