PoR Week 30 Recap – Another solid week as Bret carries the PoR/CMS banner into battle
Week 30 was a good one. Everyone who took to the stages put in a good effort and came away with a solid point total. In fact was kind of a lunch pail and hard hat week for the guys at Press on! Rallysport as we all went about our duties.

Perhaps the most exciting thing that happened this week was the debut of Bret's new Peugeot 205 Rallye – sporting the CMS colors and logo! Bret worked hard to get up to speed quickly in the car, and with some setup advice from Rick in hand, turned in some very nice runs at the Rallye de Vendée. He finished 8th in class N1 against some very tough competition. We could have some interesting fights between our two 205 drivers for the rest of the year. (note to self: sell those spare Saxo parts and look for some 205 bumpers and radiators)

Bryan also competed at Vendée last week, quickly getting his runs in before heading off to do some real-life racing at the ProSolo event in Packwood, Washington. Bryan drove his Prodrive Impreza to 7th place in N4 and 60th overall - another in a long string of good results. Oh, and he happened to win the C Stock class at Packwood. Congrats Bryan!

Rick continues show his consistency on the stages, this time on tarmac at the Rally Taormina-Messina in Sicily. A crash and a broken gearbox on SS2 cost him dearly, as he had to crawl through half of the stage in 1st gear. But, he rebounded with a very fast and consistent effort on leg 2 to finish 66th overall and 16th in the top A8W class in his Subaru Impreza WRC.

Speaking of WRC, Steven was in Finland for the 8th round of the World Rally Championships. It was the first time since the last round of Nations Cup that he jumped behind the wheel of an AWD car, and it showed at times. He alternately fought his Peugeot 207 and his driving throughout the rally, but came home a respectable 63rd overall and 19th in SWRC. His chief mechanic swears he heard him muttering at service about wishing he was back on tarmac – clearly fatigue had gotten the better of him.

For the week, we were 21st among all stables, and we remain firmly rooted in 25th spot for the year. The vital statistics are below:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot – PoR Rallysprints are BACK! Monday evenings! Look for upcoming announcements. Anyone with an interest in RBR/RSRBR is welcome to join us!
