With intense nose to bumper racing amongst the GTC racers, Paul Hamilton {Miskatonic Motorsports 997 GTC Porsche 997} crosses the finish line in 1st , claiming a long and hard fought win at Petit Lemans / Road Atlanta!

Lap after lap, the racing was very clean between the two classes, allowing the GTC racers to concentrate on their close quarter dueling through the technical esses and blind turns that make this track a favorite amongst the elite drivers. In the last 3 laps of the race, Paul eventually pulls away from Stuart Barge {Team DDP 997 GTC Porsche} who takes 2nd, just ahead of Eric Elliott {Terrapin Racing 997 GTC Porsche) who finishes in the final podium spot in third, denying Tom Cavanaugh his bronze finish.

In the GT category, Kris Hudson {K Hudson Designs Corvette C6-RGT} was untouchable, leading for most laps while an interesting fight emerged behind him for 2nd and 3rd. After falling back to 5th place mid race, Drew McLean {Uranus Racing West E92 GT BMW E92} recovers and claws his way back to 2nd place after 2+ hours on the tarmac. Kevin Wood {Team DDP Corvette C6-RGT} also recovers from earlier stumble that dropped him down to 9th position. The constant radio chatter was evidence that Kevin was regaining his composure and form, as he finishes 3rd in class just ahead of Hein Houweling.

There were some serious injuries sustained by two competing teams that were caught in a bizarre head-on collision. Though no fatalities were recorded, the electronic horror of the event was burned into the mind of one of the league’s most literary drivers. Others tried to offer their post race condolences, but as most SIM racers know, the only sweet medicine can be found by taking one’s revenge back onto the track, keeping it clean and fun as the battles will surely resume in full force.
