    Arrow Monza | 2010 NALMS S.2 | 4-Class

    .
Tanner Berry (Rush Racing Ford GT - Ford) wins at Monza!

An absolutely stunning display of determination and will power was exhibited by Tanner as he overtakes James Sharkus (Drunken Squirrel Racing 997 GT - Porsche) on lap 26, asserting his longterm plan that would unfold later in the race. By lap 28, Kevin Wood (Team DDP - Corvette C6-RGT) counters with a powerful move, placing himself in the lead, dropping Tanner back to 3rd with Sharkus regaining 2nd. Then Sharkus challenges Kevin for 25 laps as the fight was on! This was some very intense racing amongst the top 3 GT car drivers at CMS. NALMS watched a classic battle unfold between the Ford GT, Porsche 997 and the Corvette C6. Each car exhibiting their unique strengths but at the same time, each driver fully exploiting the other car's weaknesses with some savvy passes.

To the chagrin of James and Kevin, Tanner began to reel both of them back in within the last 6 laps of the race, eventually regaining the lead and 1st place, with James finishing 2nd. Miraculously, Kevin was able to nurse his Corvette across the finish line with no brakes for a podium spot.

The P2 class was back with a vengeance, fending off most of the P1s who tried to overtake them ... but there was no guarantee that pure horsepower had any upper hand at Monza between the protos. The super fluid driving of Dwayne Jans (Spotted Cow Racing ARX-01B P2 - Acura) secures a 1st place finish, with Tim Collier (ILMS ARX-01B P2 - Acura) capturing 2nd, and Jerry Hamilton (HMI ARX-01B P2 - Acura) finishing the race in 3rd. The layout at Monza typically favors the faster P1s with its long front straights and swooping turns, but tonight, the P2s showed that a good command of the chicanes could reverse the competitive tide. Dwayne is a master of pushing his P2 to the brink of mechanical failure while destroying any and all competition who tries to keep pace with him.

For the P1 class, The "Show" was definitely played out in all its grandeur by Brian Farmer (Team Barista 908 P1 - Peugeot HDi FAP), leading the entire field for all but 5 laps at Monza. In the final 6 laps, Brian separated himself with an additional lap over his nearest competitor (Dwayne Jans - P2) who took 1st in class, but 2nd overall. Paul Hamilton (Miskatonic Motorsports S101M P1 - Dome) had his hands full with another Peugeot driver from laps 39 through 49, but was able to capitalize on Miskatonic's handling in the corners to secure a podium finish with 3rd.

6 racers were unable to finish the race due to suspension damage or communication errors, but this did not stop them from visiting the Roman bath houses later that day, scaring off the local women who were bathing el Tuscan in the adjacent pool!
