Large Field Races at Lemans in CMS Gold Series Inagural Lemans 2.4 Hours
We would like to congratulate our 5 class winners from our first ever Lemans 2.4 hours Gold Series Special Event here at Champion Motorsports.

The race was conducted this week with a field of 40+ drivers, and please join in congratulating the winners, Stephen Bailey (P1,Overall), Lee Moore (P2), Tom Cavanaugh (PC), Daniel Gomes (GT1), and Tom Cinnamon (GT2).
Race Results
The race proved to be very popular with almost 50 drivers signing up over the last few weeks for the race. With a large number showing up on race night we stressed rFactor, our server, and the Enduracers mod to the max, but despite some pre-race technical problems, we were able to get away successfully at the drop of the green flag and successfully complete what was a very fun race. 19 of the 40 drivers, finishing the race Lemans was definitely challenging as usual, but those that showed patience and made the fewest mistakes were able to prevail.
Finishing the race was a huge accomplishment in itself and we were happy to award two of the finishers randomly with prizes from the event. Congratulations to Tom Cinnamon and Bob Roberson for winning the fun Lemans related prizes we had last night, including Lemans on BluRay Disc, and the popular "Go Like Hell" Lemans Book.
As far as the race would go, there were two cars in the P1 class finishing on the lead lap, congrats to Stephen Bailey for the overall win, as he showed why he's one of the most talented and quickest sim racers to ever run here at CMS, with a stellar run. He would edge out Glen Thomas a CMS newcomer that ran his first race with us here at Lemans. The third place car in the P1 category was Kris Hudson a long-time CMS veteran who drove a great race himself.
In the P2 Modern category Lee Moore would come back to CMS after a while away from the league and flex his muscles with a great drive. Nick Newcombe was quick as usual in 2nd place, with Dwayne Jans running up front in a familar position and taking 3rd place in the P2 class.
We love first time winners and last night we got a first ever class winner in our Lemans Series with CMS veteran Tom Cavanaugh winning in the LMPC class!!! Great job Tom, and at Lemans no less!!!! Woohoo!!! Bob Roberson would take 2nd in class and despite a DNF, Phil Elmore would get 3rd as the LMPC class had quite a high amount of attrition in the event.
Within the GT category, the GT1 battle was won by Daniel Gomes in the Corvette!!! Great job in a historic and popular car at Lemans Daniel. John Bacho would bring his Aston Martin DBR9 home in 2nd in the GT1 class with Dan Minges 3rd.
For GT2 one of the closest battles as usual would unfold. Tom Cinnamon would get the victory in class after a good back and forth battle with David Anderson. Both drivers would lead about half of the race, and both would make the same mistake on pit road with fuel calculation ,but it evened out and Tom would get the win. Aaron Demarre would finish in 3rd in class despite a DNF. However, Aaron's run was impressive because he has very little seat time with rFactor and mostly races in our Rally Division here at CMS. Great run Aaron.
Also, congratulations to all of our finishers from last night.
