Kihurani and Spears score big for PoR at WRC Rally of Turkey
Alex Kihurani and Steven Spears net big points totals with solid performances at the WRC Rally of Turkey.
Week 15 saw Press on! Rallysport drivers competing in four rallies, including the Rally of Turkey, the fourth stop on the Rallyesim 2010 World Rally Championship.

PoR drivers were looking to rebound from a disappointing result at the WRC Jordan Rally, and both Alex Kihurani and Steven Spears delivered with solid runs. Alex finished 33rd overall out of the 456 starters, and 33rd in WRC - even though he was driving a production-based normally aspirated Ford Fiesta S2000!
Steven also had a mostly mistake-free rally. Choosing the wrong tires for the second half of Leg 2 cost him about 1:45, but didn't affect his overall placing very much. He ended up 78th overall and 17th in the two-wheel drive JWRC category in a Citroen C2 R2 Max. Again, a very credible finish considering he was also giving up horsepower to the Super 1600 and R3 cars.

Aaron DeMarre participated in Greece for race 5 of the Hungarian Championships. It took some time to establish a rhythm in his first outing in a Peugeot 207 S2000. After a collision with a tree slowed him a bit on Leg 1, he built momentum and consistency and finished 84th overall and 9th in S2000. Only 95 of the 281 crews that began the rally made it to the finish.
Alex Tomasiak and Matt Mattei both took on the challenging mixed-surfaces of the Merwede Springs Hulst rally. Unfortunately, neither of them were among the 103 finishers.
For the week, PoR scored 516 points, its second highest total of the year. We were 22nd amongst the 44 stables for the week, and held on to 29th overall.

Next week, Jerry Centeno and Steven compete at Rallye de Wallonie on the always challenging Belgian Championship. Aaron and Alex K. head to Madagascar for Chill Out, the next round of the MRC Championship. Bryan Heitkotter takes on the Rally du Quercy on the French Cup, and Matt Mattei makes his season hill climb debut at Abreschviller St. Quirin.
