May 26, 2010 ... ROAD ATLANTA, USA (CM) - It doesn't get much better than this. The
Champion Motorsports V8 Supercars put on a show that won't soon be forgotten. The epic
event featured exciting three-wide racing, two jumped starts, and an epic last lap,
last turn, last gasp, dash to the finish line that eventually ended with an incredible
photo finish. After the dust had settled, it was Devin Obrien who became the third
winner in as many races in the series, beating out a hard charging Charles Stout by
a mere .013 of a second.

The race got off to an inauspicious start when both pole sitter Troy Dalton and Mike
Swanson jumped the start and were forced to serve stop-and-go penalties. When the lights
finally did go out, both Stout and Obrien were able to get past Dalton, but Stout went
way too deep into turn one and went off track. This opened the door for Obrien who
happily assumed the lead.

Devin Obrien takes the early lead.
Obrien began to stretch his lead in the early going, but on lap four as he entered turn
four, he took a little too much of the left side curbing and his Ford went into a long,
lazy, spin that almost ended his race. Obrien recovered quickly, but Bob Dunlop took over
the lead, followed by Stout.

Devin Obrien's race nearly comes to an end.
On lap six, Stout became the third leader of the day, when he was able to get by Dunlop
as the two headed down to turn six. Stout began to stretch his lead, but when Dunlop was
eventually forced to drop out, Obrien was able to reel in Stout, who was uncharacteristically
inconsistent.

Meanwhile, further back in the pack, Dalton was gradually making up time on the
leaders and when Stout and Obrien began to battle for the lead, Dalton closed in on the leaders.
Unfortunately for Dalton, when he jumped the start, he inadvertently crossed the start
finish line and his first lap was not recorded and therefore he was a technically a lap down.

(L to R) With two laps remaining, Dalton, Obrien, and Stout continue their battle.
With only two laps remaining, Obrien, Dalton, and Stout were still locked in a tight battle,
but Dalton took too much of the curbing in turn three and was forced to slow to keep from
getting a black flag for cutting the track. This left Obrien and Stout to settle it on their
own and it was an epic battle that ultimately saw Obrien edge out Stout at the finish line.

Devin Obrien takes the win by a mere .013 of a second.
It was one of the most exciting and entertaining races in the Champion Motorsports iRacing
division! Thanks to all the competitors that took part and we look forward to seeing everyone
in next week when the series heads to Road America.
