Arrow Hein Houweling Wins World Division Magny Cours GT Challenge

Hein Houweling brings it home in the GT class at Magny Cours in the ILMS World Division to take the overall win and Neal Johnson takes the second podium spot, last but not least Scott Clark fills the 3rd podium with a solid run.

Here is a picture of Hein taking the Checkers in a race that he was extremely fast in and won from the pole!

Magny Cours is a deceaving track with more than it`s fair share of chicanes and tricky corners, but is highly suited for GT class racing and made for some great action.

We will be back at this track again next Sunday 22nd August with 3 classes on track. Congrats again to the Winner and Podium Finishers and the results and standings have been posted, along with some action shots from the race.

    1st, congrats to the podiums!

Due to some real life issues and changing work schedules I have been away from simracing for a while, but let me tell you it was absolutley fantastic to be back and racing with all of you! Most fun Ive had in months.

Q: Went way better than I expected. Wound up 3rd I think.

R: Made a horrible start with too much wheel spin. By the time I got it under control I had dropped from 3rd to 5th.

Had a couple of great battles with Rob, attempted to put the pressure on Tim for about 7 laps but pushed too hard and ate up my tires by lap 9! I was running Med mind you?

Clawed my way back up to 3rd only to spin it back to 4th. Then spun again back to 5th.

On the last stint I had a very solid 4th with no one close behind but put it in the wall, stopped for repairs and finished 5th.

Very technical track but has a nice flow about it.

BTW, I have my graphics set to full detail in all areas but didnt see ANY tire smoke. Does this track not produce smoke? Did anyone else see any smoke?

Congrats Hein, Neal and Scott....great run guys!

Got a great start and went from 5th to 2nd by the end of the first lap, and concentrated on driving a smooth line and not over-doing the tires. Neal caught me just before halfway and after swapping spots a couple of times due to small offs, I hit pit road as planned hoping to make up a little ground with some clear track after the stop.

Well, unfortunately a couple of laps afterwards my connection took me out of the race, leaving me wondering what it will take to finish a race. The past two weeks I've had disco's in the NA and then again yesterday. I'm hoping that last night I found something and will be good to go this week.

All in all, the race was good practice for Thursday, having not turned any laps before coming in during the final minutes of qualifying and using my setup from Silverstone with some small wing tweaks. Should be a good week, if I can stay connected.

It was fun racing with you guys....just happened to have a free Sunday afternoon and jumped in. Hopefully I can do it again sometime.

Oh, and Hein...you are THE MAN!
