The Belgian countryside roared to life tonight when the CMS iRacing Sportscar Challenge rolled into Circuit de Spa Francorchamps. With the season winding down, the battle for the points lead is heating up which should make the final two races at Philip Island and Okayama engaging races to keep an eye on.

An interesting start to the race where James Francis was black flagged for jumping the start and a lap one 2 car incident between Steven Clark and John Hyatt as well as a separate spin by David Anderson left the field in disarray as well as the pits; the race was anybody's to win. David Anderson took advantage of the minimal damage to his HPD ARX-01c and took an early lead while penalties were served and car damage was repaired. Francis, Hyatt, and Clark exited pit road within a minute of each other and resumed the battle for the remaining places on the podium.

David Anderson would eventually bring his early lead all the way to the finish to win the CMS iRacing Sportscar Challenge at Circuit de Spa Francorchamps. Steven Clark finished in a solid second place which gave him the points needed to overtake Christian Oquendo for the championship lead and possibly the momentum to bring home the CMS Sportscar Challenge Championship Trophy. With his second podium finish of the season and second podium finish with CMS James Francis finished in third. John Hyatt fought through his early troubles and was able to take the fourth spot.

Next week the CMS iRacing Sportscar Challenge heads down under to the only race on the schedule held in the Southern Hemipshere. (Insert Crocodile Dundee/ Hunter reference here) Crikey! Steven Clark will be defending his points lead while a few other series regulars will be attempting to claw their way onto the podium. And if there was any way to judge by the first lap of today's race at Spa.....next week will be just as interesting.
