The 2011 Summer iRacing Series at Champion Motorsports is underway, and it has picked up right where it left off with Devin Obrien getting the win in the first race of the year at Road Atlanta.

Obrien was the 2011 Winter CMS iRacing Champion in our Mustang Series, and starts this season off by showing he's going to be quick in the Daytona Prototypes as well. Also, in similar fashion, right behind Devin was Charles Stout in 2nd place with an excellent run, followed by Christian Oquendo in 3rd to complete the podium.

The race at Road Atlanta in a very fast car proved to come with quite a bit of attrition as less than half the field that started the race would complete it due to accidents and other mechanical issues for a fair amount of the drivers. However, it looks like it won't take long for everyone to adapt and really find their own with the new car this season. Next week we will be racing our first ever Night race at Sebring which is sure to be very exciting and a whole unique and new challenge of it's own!
