Default CMS Fun Series- American Muscle at Attica: Congrats Stephen!

The racing was hot. the track was dusty, the mullets were flying, and Eric brought the beer!

Our first Fun Series race using the American Muscle cars and a tiny little 1/3mi dirt bullring was a hoot. We had side by side sliding, a few crumpled bumpers, and a load of laughs. Stephen was the overall winner of the evening based on average finishing position, but as you can see from the results it was close all night long. Notice in the 2nd pic Eric even had a 8-track in that El Camino!

    Heat winners

    Heat 1: Scott
    Heat 2: Kevin
    Heat 3: Phil
    Heat 4: Stephen

    Average finish for weekend

It was, I'm suprised no one added comments. I should have but must be getting lazy...

I had a blast all round. Running on dirt is new to me but drew helped us out with a setup. It was based on what he used to do when he did it in real life !!!
    No wonder he's so fast...

Had fun just jabbering on Ventrillo with everyone. We did 4x10 minute heats, which was enough. I was getting vertigo each heat. I also found myself leaning in my chair thru the corners trying to get that extra bit of weight on the left side. LOL.

By the last race we we're all pretty close. Even had a number of laps with 4 of us all over each other. Hope we do another small oval again and get some more out. We all thought that this would be even better with 30+ cars on track. That would be mayhem, but fun.

We also where jumping off the track on the cool down laps. Laughing so hard we could barely make full sentences.

    Good times

I can only remember two sims that made me laugh like that - both involved dirt.

One was World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars, and the other was a Papyrus game called SODA Off-road Racing. Back in the day, several of us used to play SODA over the network at work during lunch and we laughed ourselves silly. It brought the verb "dirtied" into our regular vocabulary. It was used when you were on the wrong end of an aggressive driving incident. Usually it went something like this - "Man, I had that race wrapped up until Chuck dirtied me on the crossover jump and I lost a wheel!"

    Good times indeed!

We've got a 1/2 mi dirt oval coming up, and a very short tight paved oval that is going to require some sliding and banging to get around as well. Then the last race on dirt involves jumps over the main straight and banked corners...should be insane!
