Default Alonso Johnson Racing strikes again in WD 5 class at Autopolis!

    Alonso Johnson Racing strikes again!

The casual observer might think that im just reusing the same screenie for every post race write up, but no, he is just that good!

Aonso Johnson Racing driver Neal Johnson continues his winning streak by taking pole, fast lap, most laps led, the p1 class, and over all win at the CMS LMS World division 5 class event at Autopolis. Neal made it look somewhat easy today, but I suspect this was an illusion. The P2 cars were were looking as if they would give the P1's a run for their money, and on shear speed they were, but as luck would have it many of the p2 drivers would fall victom to this tight, twisty, highly technical, and somewhat "greasy" beast of a track. Rush Racing driver Rob Berry would finish 2nd in P1, while rookie Val Hoggard of Val Hoggard Racing continues his amazing rookie season with another top 5 by finishing 3rd.

In P2 class another of our hot shoe rookies this season Team UK driver Nick Newcombe put in an impessive, all be it slightly bizzare drive today, suffering what appeard to be a stop and go for jumping the start, followed up by a drive thru for speeding in the pits. In spite of falling to the back from all of this, he still managed the win in p2 class. Taking 2nd in P2 with a very strong run was Paul Hamilton.

In the LMPC class Team Barista driver Brian farmer was in rare form today taking the win, but in the closing stages of the race he very nearly tossed it all away when he broke for an upcoming right hander before he had his wheels straightened from the previous left hander sending him nose 1st into the gurdrail. He manged to nurse the car back to the pits for a lengthly repair and some major abuse from his crew, but did manage to drag it home for the victory. In a post race interview Brian was quoted as saying "he would like very much to thank fellow CMS driver Jerry Hamilton for a most excellant setup". Brian doesnt understand how he did it, but something about Jerry's setup "made it almost impossible to loop the car in the greasy turn 11 hairpin". Filling out the podium in LMPC were Terrapin Racings Tom Cavanaugh and Drunken Squirrel Racings James Sharkus.

In GT class Hein Houweling of Houweling Racing is becoming another screenie I can just keep reusing! Hein finished 1st in GT, but this time it didnt look quite so easy. Team Arctic driver Scott Clark took the pole for GT class followed by Don Fryman of Don Fryman Pepsi Racing. Scott had an early race incident and fell back into Heins grasp, and then Hein and Don had an intense battle that lasted for several laps. Scott would finish in 2nd, with Don taking the final spot on the podium for GT.

In GTC Martin Koehler of Team DDP Racing would follow up a great performance in last weeks GT Challenge event here at Autopolis with win today! Rookie Franck Feldhuez would claim the number 2 spot for GTC.

The next event in the CMS LMS World division will be the GT Challenge race at Road One on Sunday 03/13/11.
