Alex Kihurani and Bryan Heitkotter lead the way for PoR!
PoR drivers competed in three events of the RallyeSim RBR 2010 Championship during the week of April 5-11. Here's a quick recap of what was a tough week of rallying and hill climbing in France and Belgium.

Col de Chanaz – French Hill Climb Cup
Bryan Heitkotter continued his string of excellent runs with a 5th in class N4. After a half-spin on his first run got his juices flowing, he laid down two very fast runs in his Subaru Impreza N14 Prodrive for a 2-run total of 2:50.05, only 2.05 seconds behind the class winner. Justin Cady managed an equally impressive 2:50.29 in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 and placed 41st in the top A8 class. Bryan and Justin were 49th and 53rd overall out of 447 starters.
Terre de Provence Rallye – French Gravel Championships
Alex Kihurani overcame a couple of light rolls on the slick gravel stages and set some very fast times in his first outing in a Group N Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9. He finished 12th in the N4 class and earned his first points for PoR after being “hammered” by misfortune in two previous rallies. Steven Spears had a nearly flawless rally in his Citroen C2 R2 Max, and steady times brought him home 5th in R2, 1:31 behind the class winner. He was also 7th in the Citroen Racing Trophy standings. Matt Mattei's rally ended abruptly on a foggy SS7 (Puimichel) when he clipped a small tree and damaged the engine of his Evo 9. In all, 205 drivers finished the rally out of 435 starters.

TAC Rally – Belgian Championships
Both Jerry Centeno and Aaron DeMarre suffered DNFs on the 5th round of the Belgian Championships. Aaron had a good run going in his N1 Peugeot 205 Rallye until a computer crash caused his retirement during Leg 2.
Overall, PoR was 29th of 44 stables for week 15 with 256 points, and remains in 29th place for the 2010 season.

Next week promises to be a busy one for PoR, with Steven, Alex K. and Jerry headed to the WRC Rally of Turkey. Alex Tomasiak and Matt will do double duty, driving in the Dutch Championship for PoR and in Turkey for Subaru Rally Team Canada. Kris Hudson and Aaron will head to Greece for Race 5 of the Hungarian Championship and Justin will take on the Rallye Lyon Charbonnieres Rhone of the French Tarmac Championship.
Also, a reminder about the PoR Rallysprints every Wednesday and Sunday night - all are welcome!
