Reserved for Results & Replay

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our Corvette (with a side order of Lola's) Classic. I think the majority of us agree these are both fun cars to drive! :)
Congrat's to *Wayne* for his win in the Lola and *Bailey* for her win in the Vette.

We're gearing up for our next Fun Series (announcement on the way) and will be traveling back in time where driving with your mouth open probably wasn't a great idea! lol Oh, that means it must be an open wheeler... hmmmmmm

Let's hear how your race went, how you liked (or didn't like) the car you drove.

*L*adies and Gentlemen,

Round 09 of the CMS 2013 S1 World Le Mans Series championship takes us to *Montreal!*

The circuit, at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Notre-Dame, a man-made island in the St. Lawrence River that is part of the city of Montreal, was originally named the Île Notre-Dame Circuit. It was renamed in honour of Canadian Formula One driver Gilles Villeneuve, father of Jacques Villeneuve, following his death in 1982. The venue hosted the Champ Car World Series Grand Prix of Montreal from 2002 to 2006.

Barriers run close to the circuit and many experienced drivers have been caught out by them. A particularly famous part of the circuit is the wall on the outside of the exit of the final chicane before the start/finish straight. In 1999 the wall, which bears the name Bienvenue au Québec ("Welcome to Quebec") giving it the nickname "Mur du Québec" (Quebec Wall), ended the race of three Formula One World Champions, Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve along with FIA GT champion Ricardo Zonta. Since then the wall has been nicknamed "The Wall of Champions". In recent years 2009 world champion Jenson Button (2005) and 2010 World Champion Sebastian Vettel (2011) have also fallen victim to the wall. Juan Pablo Montoya (2006) and Vitantonio Liuzzi (2007) have also crashed there, while in 2010, Kamui Kobayashi also collided with the wall.

Changes made in 2005 to the curbs on the final chicane were controversial amongst drivers in the run-up to the Grand Prix. The curbs were made higher and more difficult for the drivers to see, making it even more challenging.

On June 23, 2006, the Canadian Press reported that the city of Montreal has awarded exclusive rights to stage the two allowed race weekends on the track to Normand Legault, promoter of the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix. The deal is for 2007 to 2011, with an option for 2012 to 2016. Legault decided to replace the Champ Car race with races from the Grand American Road Racing Association's Rolex Series and NASCAR's Nationwide Series, respectively – the latter series' first race north of the Canada-United States border. On August 4, 2007, Kevin Harvick made history by winning the first NASCAR Busch Series (now Nationwide Series) race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in what was one of the most controversial NASCAR races ever, as Robby Gordon claimed to have won the race.

*Please be advised that new for this season the race server has been set to closed qually. *This means that once the server has moved to qually session drivers can not join the server until warmup. So I highly recommend that everyone arrive during practice, ensure that your game and connection are looking solid and if not leave and rejoin BEFORE the end of practice, because once qually has begun you will not be able to get back into the server until the warmup session. THe main benefit of this is guys trying to concentrate on getting a good qually lap will no longer be distracted by some guys constantly leaving and joining like a revolving door.

*NOTES:*

*1.* *Manual rolling start procedure:*

*A.* At the green light the overall pole sitter will lead the grid *single file in qually order *at a speed not to exceed 100mph/160kph all the way around the track to the final corner. You may accelerate to racing speed as you exit the final corner but you may not overtake until you cross the start/finish line. Orange zone rules are in effect, see map for details.

*B.* Do not weave back and forth, abruptly speed up or slow down, or jam on the brakes in an attempt to warm your tires or brakes during the formation lap. This could easily cause an accident with another car.

*C.* Be advised that as the game places you on the grid the car directly in front of you is *NOT* the car that you qually behind. It would be the car ahead and in the opposite lane.

*D. *As the leader starts rolling you need to allow the car in the row ahead and in the opposite lane to "fall in" behind the car directly ahead to achieve single file in the proper qually order.

*E.* If you lose control on the formation lap, you MUST let all cars pass and rejoin at the end. The penalty for not doing this is a no qually/drive thru at your next event. If you cause an accident on the formation lap, you will be DQ'd from the race results, and will receive a no qually/drive thru at your next event.

*During the rolling start:*

*A.* The pole sitter should try to maintain a steady pace, slowing for tight turns as needed, but should not exceed 100mph/160kph in the straight sections.
*B.* Drivers should try to maintain a consistent "spacing" between themselves and the car ahead of them. *Appx 2 car lengths*.
*C.* Do not ride the rear bumper of the car ahead as he may suddenly slow and then you wouldn’t have time to avoid them.
*D.* There is to be no drastic acceleration, braking, or weaving side to side.
*E.* Do not allow yourself to fall back too far from the driver ahead. This is unfair to those behind you.
*F.* If for whatever reason you find yourself getting way behind the car ahead, speed up to catch them. The 100mph/160kph limit is for the pole sitter. You may exceed that to close the gap, (Carefully).
*G.* It is not vital that the "classes" stay tightly grouped. ie, PC close behind P2, GT2 close behind PC. Each class is running its own race. You are not racing each other.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Round 09 of the CMS 2013 S1 World Le Mans Series championship takes us to Montreal!

My Rant on the cancelled Global Rallycross Championship at X-Games Barcelona

As a rally fan, I've been watching the GRC as it has grown up over the past couple of years. In my opinion a successful GRC will actually help stage rally as viewers learn how cool small 4wd sedans going fast on dirt is. This season was supposed to be GRC's big breakout year with more dirt, more action, and more events. They learned a lot after last season no doubt..at least one would think. Unfortunately even though they are in their 3rd year the organizers are still having serious growing pains and making some mistakes that I find to be down right ridiculous.

Here's my rant article: Global Rallycross Championship Round 2 - Epic Fail! - Open Paddock (http://openpaddock.net/2013/05/20/global-rallycross-championship-round-2-xgames-barcelona/)

Do you agree with me? or have other opinions?

The cast & plot seems to be good for me, this is something different so im very interested in seeing this.

From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes "Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' Pacific Rim."

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge

any thoughts?

following from the previous movies the storyline continues and dom finds out that letty is still alive, everything as to why she shot dom is explained in the film with events unfolding rapidly, dom & paul are faced with a tough decision to make.

The Action was more then the previous film, the racing lacked quite abit, i can understand why the story happened the way it did, but there was fast more action then racing.... having said that i would rate this film a beastly 8/10.

i really enjoyed it being a fast & furious fan i wasn't to dissapointed at all, the visual we're super!

*** SPOILER ***

Jason Statham made he appearance in the ending of this movie, the big bad ass is out to get Dom & the crew for the series finale.

here's the trailer.
