I couldnt beleive some of the vintage footage in this video, although a bit grusome at times still a great documentory. Does anyone know where I could purchase this DVD in US format? I can only find it in region 0 PAL.

Thanks for this Brian!
I have experienced a lot of terrible things in my days, even death up close and personal, but seeing Roger Williamson's crash again...was gut wrenching. I am not ashamed to say that I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
Thanks for sharing this Brian. Even though I do not know where you can get a hard copy of the above video, it still never ceases to give me the willys when I watch how vulnerable drivers were back in the day.
It reminds of the post from our dear friend, Franco Lauda, who posted this thread: "Killed myself when I was young." His video was very tough to watch also: watch this
Compared to crashes of today, like the two Audi R18's at Le Mans 2011 or Robert Kubica at Montreal in 2007, where the drivers survived without much problem in what looked like sure-death carnage, technology has definitely saved the day.

Very moving Brian, just watched the whole thing -- thanks for sharing.

A buddy of mine captured the video and did a bunch of stuff to get it on DVD, I can ask if maybe I can get an extra copy. No promises, but maybe I can hook you up.
Great documentary. It is really sad though. So many lives lost.
If you like this sort of stuff, there is a great one called
"Shell History of Motor Racing"
It's all about the very very early days of racing. from 1900-1939.
