Racing for Bleekemolen Race Planet, Christopher Snow was the man to beat at Nordschleife, setting a blistering pole with a lap time of 8:29.724 ... and fastest race lap time of 8:34.388! Steen Fanta put in an incredible charge off the grid, overtaking no less than 14 other drivers until reaching 4th position at which time his Race abruptly ended on lap 5. Two other drivers, Ronald Gross and Marcel Lehrieder also met a similar fate on lap 2 and 5.
Neal Johnson put in a string of laps that would make Ayrton Senna proud! After dropping from 5th to 12th by lap 3, Neal regained his composer and rhythm, clawing his way back to 2nd place! This was no easy task as close on his heels nipped a very tenacious Marcel Purschke. Marcel started the race in 18th, but eventually sniped his way into 3rd position by lap 9. Peter Clausen had some difficulties with his Porsche, dropping two positions from 2nd to 4th during lap 10, but he was able to hold his position until the checkered flag.

Richard Roberts finished in 5th place, followed closely by Peter Walter as they both put in a very solid performance today. For the last 3 laps of the race, the cluster clowns of James Sharkus, Kevin Wood and Kinst VonSterga were fighting for their lives as their mental acuity plus Michelin tires were taxed to the limit. The Americans were constantly berated by the German fans at each turn, but the trio preservered and finished the race in 7th, 8th and 9th, respectively. Greg Haley and David Andersen were content racing at their own pace and staying well clear of the 3 squireley Porsches ahead of them.

The camera crews were glued to the remaining 3 drivers who were determined to complete this race. Captured on video, their torment and heartfelt suffering were most apparent, but so was their dogged pursuit of the finish line. Tom Mountjoy, Aaron DeMarre and Maria Lehrieder were unyielding to the string of bad luck that plagued their race … but they hung in there to the end, a true testament to their greatness and intestinal fortitude!
For the remaining 9 drivers who could not finish the race, they now understand why Nordschleife is so aptly nicknamed the Green Hell.
