• CMS iRacing Ford GT Series Roars to a Start at Oulton Park

    The Champion Motorsports 2012 Winter iRacing season is underway as we completed our first of four races this past week at Oulton Park in the much improved Ford GT. With the new tire model and some tweaks to the car from the iRacing crew it's a really fun drive and made for some excellent, very competitive, and close racing in our season opener.

    Congratulations to Thomas Stockmans for winning the race this week in his first attempt with CMS. Thomas led only 6 of the 31 laps, but was consistent and mistake free enough on the challenging, narrow circuit to outlast Kris Hudson and Charles Stout for the first win of the year.

    The interval from first to second was approximately 23 seconds in the race, with a total of 6 cars finishing on the lead lap and 8 of the 13 starters finishing the race. The circuit being tricky and challenging claimed a few cars early in the race inluding those of Javier Torres, and Devin O'brien, both CMS regulars.

    The race race will be in two weeks at Watkins Glen, which will be a high speed, fun and high grip affair in these cars, which should come as a welcome site to the drivers after opening at the challenging Oulton Circuit.
