• Mark Bell Big Winner in CMS Forza4 Mini Cooper Challenge at Top Gear!

Congratulations to Mark Bell for winning big tonight in the CMS Forza 4 Top Gear Mini Cooper Challenge sim event. Mark won both races in what was a very fun night and successful event for Champion. We'd like to congratulate all of the drivers for running very well and close, and extra kudos to the podium in both races, which was identical with Mark Bell 1st both events, followed by a Mike Mueller, and David Anderson.

Pictured above, Mark Bell leads the field in his very quick Mini Cooper S, with Champion Motorsports Livery. Mark would be very quick and consistent in both of the 12 laps races ... winning each time. Congrats Mark!

I gotta say that was some excellent racing. Mike Mueller put on some massive pressure in the last 5 laps of the second race. It was everything I could do to hang on to the lead. He was full in my mirrors on the last lap from Chicago through to Gambon!

such fun, really enjoyed it guys! Everyone raced very respectful and clean. I just announced a 2nd event for us, it will be a bit different but way fun as well. We will drive the Radical SR8 at Road Atlanta in a 45 minute timed event!

I tell you what guys, I have a feeling we will be playing this for awhile. I love the standard spec races with no setup's. Although, I think we should have some multi-class races like that in the future. How much is allowed in this game for Pits and all? I would love to try some driver hot-swap, but doubt you can.

The race was excellent, I wish I had a rematch now, I really got a hang of the track and car on the second race.

One thing I think we need to look at is the mic situation. I have played online & it has always been fine with the mics, the only time I ran into a problem was that night. Please keep an eye on the forums. I will start to paint some Radicals now

      Cheers,

After a few days of getting to know the game again. I would really like to organize a mini series around American Muscle cars. Whippin' the Old's 442 around Infineon, Road America, Road Atlanta, and Catalunya was sooo much fun. Something tuned to B500 would be great. Possible restrictions on what can be installed.

To comment on Mike's suggestion on Multi-class races. I for one don't really get the feeling for it in Forza. I did a few races and it seems to lack excitement. But maybe im spoiled with Rfactor and racing with 30+ people in 5 different classes.

Jeff, get with me if you'd be interested in taking the helm on coordination of a mini series --- and Mike can't wait to see the Radicals! Wooho! The radical race should be a blast at Road Atlanta!

Will do. Need a few days to test out the cars and what-not.

I like the multi-class racing support, I have only run against the AI tho so it's not the best. I think it would be a lot more fun with real drivers battling in classes in a longer race. There is no driver swap support, however there is pitting available. I don't think I have run long enough to really feel the effect on tires, however they will swap out an engine in 20 sec flat!

      ALMSfan:

I know what you are saying about the multi-class, but I have a feeling with human drivers it will be that much better. The AI doesn't do it justice.

You may be right. But with only 16 in the field shorter tracks would be the best. I wouldn't attempt Le Mans with 16. We ran Le Mans earlier this year in rfactor. Even with that big field it still was quite lonely at times.

The reason I hadnt scheduled a multi class race yet is because we only had about 9 drivers last week -- so until we get a good size group of 16+ wanting to race, I think single class is best, but I would love to do a multi class at some point for fun if we can get 16. So tell your friends guys that we are doing sim racing with Forza here at CMS, and have them come join us in the Radical race to get a feel for the type of racing to expect here .
