Default Ok who's got Madden 2010?

Who's playing Madden 2010? I am on vacation traveling so will have to wait until next week to play it -- but can't wait!!! I had it pre ordered from Gamestep and when I get back in town will stop by there and pick it up for a little football on the XBOX 360!

My best friends son has it for the 360 and he didn't have anything positive to say about it.

A gaming board I'm on has positive reviews on the 360 version. EA decided to go for a more simulation approach, so its probably a harder game to get into. Not so many long bombs, and far fewer 90+ players. As a former serious Front Page Football 95/98 player, I'd love to see Madden get a good sim mode, but only having a Wii and a PC I'm a bit locked out. I am holding off getting the Wii version because it looks like they dumbed that version down....need to see the reviews first.

I did play my 09 Wii version last night against my son, and we had a great time. Moving the wiimote to take the snap and then throw the ball is still very cool.

I buy the 360 version every year and have a lot of fun with it. cant wait to try the new one. I downloaded the Gamestop Pre Order Demo which allows 5 minute quarters of last years super bowl and it was cool.

EA took this approach with their NHL game and it has led to winning Sport Game of the Year from a number of outlets for the last two years on the trot, and it looks like 2010 may be the same. Taking this route has also increased sales for the franchise, despite having a terrible PC version (just a PS2 port ). I'm surprised that EA hasn't really followed suit earlier with their other games (besides the FIFA [REAL FOOTBALL! ] games).

Those Frontpage sports sims that Sierra made were amazing! I loved the baseball and football games... the best thing about the football games? I could play three downs, twelve men on the field, 110 yard fields, and 20 yard endzones... oh yeah.

I didn't find the implimentation of the controls on the Wii to be that great last year. When this was combined with a number of inherent flaws of that particular consol and this years itteration of the game, I just wasn't feeling it. With the introduction of Wii MotionPlus, the controls will likely be more refined this year (if Madden supports it, that is); however, I'm still not sure if it can make up for the short commings of the system as a whole.

Troy: The franchise mode on the Wii is basically the same version Madden has been trotting out for years (until the Madden 10 version that is). So its not so great.

Andrew: I gotta admit I come to the Wii expecting something far different than I even did in FPS Football. In FPS Football, I was in a serious league. We had live drafts (via IRC ), designed our own plays to fit our personnel, and scouted the heck out of each weeks opponent. In Madden 09 of the Wii, its all about playing with my 9yo twins and maybe a guest. The fact the wiimote+nunchuk controls is perfect for the kids, and I like it better than playing via a gamepad type controller. I agree when they integrate the Motion-plus, it will be even better. A couple of times I've had a group over and Wii Madden has taken center stage. I play it single player sometimes too, but never too serious. As for graphics, I'm not the one to ask because eye candy doesn't make much of a difference to me.

I have the 360 version and while it is not perfect, it is light years ahead of 09 in my opinion. This is the first version in a few years that I can see myself playing more than about a month.
The online franchise looks like a blast when they get the kinks worked out.
