Default Forza 4 Historic Trans Am Round 4 - Feb 4th at Infineon Raceway

CMS's Forza 4 Historic Trans-Am Series hits Road America this Saturday night, January 21st!

    Via Infineon Raceway - Trackpedia

    Race Date - February 4th, 2012
Simulation - Forza 4 (private session)
    Car - Mark Bell's Trans-Ams
    Track - Infineon Raceway

    - Practice begins in private session at 6:30pm Pacific / 9:30pm Eastern
    - 3 lap Pre-Qualifying begins at 7:00pm Pacific / 10:00pm Eastern
    - 10 lap Qualifying race begins at 7:15pm Pacific / 10:15pm Eastern
    - 10 lap Points Race starts directly after the qualifying race with the grid in reverse order
    - Driving aids not allowed, except for clutch assist

Note: Due to the interest in this series and the issues with connections that we have been having, the format will change slightly to use 2 rooms, one hosted by me and one hosted by Mark. We will run a pre-qualifier to seed the rooms into two groups based on fastest lap times. While the grids will be smaller, we hope this will still allow for close racing between drivers with similar pace, without excluding drivers due to to connection issues. The times will be combined into one result sheet to determine points.

Check out the ongoing discussion here: Infineon Forza 4 Trans-Am

And if you missed it above:

Thank you Smokee! I'm sure everyone will agree to the new format because it was a major hassle trying to get everyone on the same race. Look forward to the new format.

This is a great solution I think.
In the 3 lap pre-qualifier what would you say to a 3 or so second roll off delay between cars since you are going by lap times and not finishing times.
And for race sizes I think we will still have at least 10 cars per room as this series really looks to be growing with almost 30 on the sign-up.

Sounds good to me, maybe even a little more since the fast guys will be more than 3 seconds a lap faster than me, let alone over 3 laps. I will run it by Mark, I like the idea.

10 per room would be awesome, hoping we can get that tomorrow!

Assuming the numbers continue to grow, and bearing in mind there are always 'aliens', would it be feasible to
run separate classes in, dare I say it, future seasons? Maybe something like an A class for the alien group,
and a B class for the humans, run as two different championships with promotion and relegation for the winners
of class B and slower class A drivers respectively, for subsequent seasons?
I think it's more or less an extension of what's being discussed here, given the numbers the championship is
attracting. But if 'class divisions' are already sorted as a full championship entry list I think the work load for
'overseers' would be far less during each event, and everyone gets a fair chance at a podium with two
    title trophies up for grabs.

    Just a thought.

The Simplicity of this series is what attracted me. I hope we keep this basic in the future, you start to add a bunch of extra rules, classes, regulations, they'll be broken/ignored and become a mess! Let's keep it Classic T/A. Marks rides.
