CMS Presents Gran-Turismo 5 Magnificant Mustangs at Mazda Laguna Seca on Feb, 21st

Champion Motorsports is pleased to present our latest special event!

We will be racing American Muscle Ford Mustangs, at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway with Gran Turismo 5 for Playstation 3 on Monday February 21st, 2011.

We are very excited to bring GT5 console simulation racing to CMS in the form of this special event. If you have Gran Turismo 5 please plan to join us as this is sure to be an excellent and very fun race. If you do not have Gran Turismo 5, pick it up, it's a great game and very good console sim racer.

Here are the details on our race, subject to change slightly.

Track: Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway
Car: Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07
Race Date: Monday February 21st, 2011
Race Room Name: Champion Motorsports
Race Room open on GT5 Lobby at 8pm CST
Race Starting at approximately 9pm CST
Race Distance: 25 laps
Tire Rules: No Restriction, Race Tires (Hard, Medium or Soft) recommended
Entries Open to 16 racers maximum

Please post your sony playstation ID in this thread. There is no apparent way for me to password the race room, so I want to control access to the room by playstation ID. If I know your ID and you have given it to me in this thread then I will know who you are on race night. If I don't know who you are then you will be subject to kick from the room to allow a known CMS member or sim racer.

Everyone is encouraged to use a Wheel and Pedals for this race. Almost if not all Racing aids will be turned off.

Racing with Friends

My Lounge Creation:
You can create your own private lounge for racing just with your PlayStation®Network(PSN) friends. Tracks and race modes are set when the lounge is created, and can be modified at any time to keep the racing fresh.

Race View in My Lounge:
Once inside your My Lounge or a friend's lounge, you can warm up doing free runs while you wait for your friends to join. If a race is already in progress when you join, you can watch the race on a live camera feed.

Time to Race:
Once your friends have gathered, you're ready to start. You can communicate using voice chat while you enjoy the private races between you and your friends.

This will allow only CMS members and friends to join in on the fun without the people we don't know & trust. All we have to do is have everyone that is signed up on the host's friend list so they can join the lounge at any time during the night. I would be willing to do this if you would like as I have Monday's off.

Are we doing street stock or are we allowed upgrades

Kevin and Dave, I will add you both to the list!!! Great. Also Kevin thanks for the note on the lounge. Would you mind taking the lead on setting that up for us and posting the directions for us to join? Also, let's run Street Stock for this race to keep it simple and even.

hey guys. I'll take place. my PSN is hachi_kid. what does "street stock" mean? if that's stock, can we run sport hards? the racing slicks will have way too much grip for a stock mustang. it will feel like a slot car. those really start to allow some sliding and rotation when they're on a Group C prototype, or something.

I will do some testing with the tires and make a determination. Right now I have it setup to allow any tire you wish, but you are saying force to a lower tire to take out some grip?
