    CMS World Racing Series (WRS)

    2017 season 2

Hello and welcome to the CMS World Racing Series (WRS)! This series was primarily developed to offer racing at times that are convenient for members who live in CET and UK time zones, however anyone who finds our race times convenient for them regardless of where you are located is more than welcome to join us!

The 2017 S2 season will consist of 6 event .

For 2017 S2 we will be utilizing the rFactor 2 platform in conjunction with the Dallara DW12 / Radical mods.
Before competing in the CMS World Racing Series (WRS) there are a few things you will need to do.

    1. You must visit the CMS Master car number selection thread and select your unique CMS car number.
    2. You must visit the CMS WRS 2017 S2 signup thread and signup for the series.
    3. You must visit the SLS system data base and create an account (season will be added for you).
    4. You must visit (and read) the CMS League Wide General rules & regs
    5. You must visit (and read) the WRS Supplemental Rules & Regs.
    6. I also highly recommend reading the "Quick start guide" to racing in the WRS.

    Required Downloads
    rFactor 2

    Dallara DW12 mod.

    Radical mod.

    WRS mod file:
Current version: WRS 2017 S2_a.rfmod (Requires Dallara DW12and Radical mods , and all tracks from links in schedule below)

    Optional Downloads
TeamSpeak Chat Client (Allows you to communicate with other drivers while on or off track)

    Qualifying:
Qualifying will be "private" mode for 10min.
Please be advised that the CMS WRS race servers are set to closed qually. This means that once the server has moved to qually session drivers can not join the server until warmup. So I highly recommend that everyone arrive during practice, ensure that your game and connection are looking solid and if not leave and rejoin BEFORE the end of practice, because once qually has begun you will not be able to get back into the server until the warmup session. The main benefit of this is guys trying to concentrate on getting a good qually lap will no longer be distracted by the stuttering that is sometimes caused when drivers leave or join the servers..

    Start Procedure:
A: For 2017, we will continue to use a modified rolling start. This will include a one-lap, single file rolling formation lap controlled by the race leader. Once the green flag has dropped the Pole Sitter will start their formation lap with a speed of 60mph or 100Kph. At each track, an area (typically the last corner or something close) will be designated as the spot to accelerate to racing speed, with passes not allowed until crossing the start/finish line. A per-track Orange Zone will also still be in effect. If you lose control on the formation lap, you MUST let all cars pass and rejoin at the end. The penalty for not doing this is no qualifying at your next event. If you cause an accident on the formation lap, you will be DQ'd from the race results, and will not be allowed to qualify at your next event.

    B. Do not weave back and forth, abruptly speed up or slow down, or jam on the brakes in an attempt to warm your tires or brakes during the formation lap. This could easily cause an accident with another car.

    C. Be advised that as the game places you on the grid the car directly in front of you is NOT the car that you qualified behind. It would be the car ahead and in the opposite lane.

    D. As the leader starts rolling you need to allow the car in the row ahead and in the opposite lane to "fall in" behind the car directly ahead to achieve single file in the proper qualifying order.

    E. If you lose control on the formation lap, you MUST let all cars pass and re-join at the end. The penalty for not doing this is a no qualify/drive thru at your next event. If you cause an accident on the formation lap, you will be DQ'd from the race results, and will receive a no qualify/drive thru at your next event.

(As such any and all incidents that occur into turn 1 and the entire Orange Zone (OZ) for that matter will be heavily scrutinized by the CMS review team.) See more about the OZ, and review process below.

    [/URL]Driver Briefings:
Driver briefings are posted at least 5 days prior to each event, and list Orange Zone details and track download links. ALWAYS DL the track from the link in the driver briefing, as this will be the version loaded on the server. Driver briefings are REQUIRED reading, and it is recommended to check them just prior to a race.

    Race review and penalties:
The race review team will review the start and OZ after each race, as well as review any incidents for which an incident protest was filed, and issue any penalties as appropriate. The results of these reviews will be posted no later than one week before the next event. All drivers are required to read the race review/penalty thread before the upcoming race so that they will be aware if they are required to serve any penalties. Any driver receiving a penalty will also be notified via PM. NOTE: Unless otherwise specified in the driver briefing for an event, the review team typically will only review the start and OZ for each event. Therefore if you experience an incident during an event that happens AFTER the OZ you will need to use our Incident Protest Form to file an official protest if you wish to have it reviewed.
