Drivers Pre Race Notes iRacing Ford GT Masters - Round 2 @ Watkins Glen - Feb 29th

It's Race Time!!! Here are our pre-race notes for Round 2 of the Champion Motorsports, iRacing.com Ford GT Masters Series. Our second of 4 races in this Championship will be held on February 29th at Watkins Glen International Classic Boot.

This thread contains the details you need for the race, and please use this thread to ask any questions, share setups, discuss the track, laptimes, etc.



Race Date - February 29th, 2012
Simulation - iRacing.com (hosted session)
hosted session listed at "cmsracing.com Ford GT Masters"
Car - iRacing Ford GT with New Tire Model
Track - Watkins Glen (Classic Boot)

-NO RACE Password, entry will be controlled by iRating and SR levels and/or CMS membership in forums
-Practice begins in hosted session at 830 CST (-6GMT) / 930 EST (-5GMT)
-Qualifying begins at 9pm CST / 10pm EST (15 minutes) all cars on track together
-Race starts at approximately 920pm CST / 1020pm EST
-Race distance 45 minutes
-One pit stop for minimum 2 tires required during race at any time after lap 5
-Standing Start
-Driving aids not allowed, except for clutch assist
-Fast Tows not allowed
-Full Course Cautions - OFF

Quick reminder that this coming Weds is the 2nd round of the CMS iRacing Series with the Ford GT at Watkins Glen!

Looking forward to our next race at the Glen. What type of lap times are people doing here? I've tried about 10 different setups but I'm not able to do any better than mid 1:46's

Hah! Then send me all 10 because my best is mid 47 (lap 1 fresh tires), then I'm high 48/low 49 from there.

Should be a fun track for this car!

I am about in the same range as your Wayne in my initial testing. Haven't found a balance on the car yet I like at this track. Anyone have a setup they like that they are willing to share?
