    Default 5/16/18 Sportscar Trophy - Rd1 - Driver's Briefing

Round 1 of the Sportscar Trophy marks the dawn of a new era for iRacing at CMS - The LMP1s are here! Experience the prototype rocket ships blasting around the Glen, while the blue-riband sportcars of the world do battle in GTE and GT3. This should be a great first round on a classic American circuit.

    Briefing Notes
    • The Orange Zone will run from the start/finish line to the exit of The Esses
    • Stay right on pit exit; cars on track have the right of way
    • Prototypes! Beware of making passes after Turn 1 if cars are exiting pits
    • If you are pitting, stay to driver's right on exit of the last corner. DO NOT CUT ACROSS THE TRACK
    • One fast repair
    • Be mindful of track limits at Turn 1 (as far as right side tires on exit curb)
    • LMP1 & GTE fuel limited to 60%
    • GT3 fuel limited to 55%
    • Have fun!

    Dynamic Weather
    Race 1: Morning
    Race 2: Late Afternoon

The "ORANGE ZONE POLICY EXPLAINED" This zone constitutes the outlined Orange Zone area on the track during the 1st Lap. This zone should be regarded as a PASS WITH EXTREME CAUTION area during the first lap of any race. Should an incident occur because a driver chooses to attempt a pass within this “Orange Zone” the driver initiating the pass will likely be held responsible.

Outside of the Orange Zone, clean and responsible driving is the order of the day. If you begin to spin, hold the brake down so your car's actions will be more predictable to drivers attempting to negotiate the track safely. Please take the utmost care and use your Relative Black Box (F3) to safely rejoin the track if you have an off.

Guess the rocket ships are staying! I need a lot more practice in traffic, these things are crazy (fun).

Are you able to carry over track state in the second session?

For the second session, I'll take a guess at what the track state is. Usually I just anywhere from 50 to 75 percent like I did with our Porsche Cup.
