Feeling a bit down about this. I gave up a day of work to join.
I suggested the car, the event....and ended up having problems to join and losing most of the fun.
The discussion about the race time goes on the other topic.
When I joined...race 1 was about to finish, so I had time for just something like 3 laps, and be prepared for race 2. At the time I wasnt even sure if that was race 1 or 2.
Fornutately I had race 2 to run, which was very good fun.
Starting on Pole, I didnt want to go alone and lead the field, so on the back straight I dropped back to 6th or something, to get a feeling with the car and the other drivers around.
In the end the fight was between me and Hernan. I was driving nicely, quite like this car.
Chasing him down I was doing some great lap times, at one point I did something like 4 laps in the same tenth of a second. So enjoyable.
He made a small mistake going into the final lap, enough for me take the lead. Very good race.
Too bad I coudnt enjoy properly the party.

Thanks everyone that showed up. I wish we could kick the historics to bigger crowds.

I was thinking about racing this event, but I'm really not a fan of reversed grids. Being 2, 3, or 4 seconds off the pace and having to start in the front may be fun for some, but not for me.

Congrats to Hernan and Angelo for the victories.
Thanks to all for showing up.

Sorry about the race #1 replay (lost on my end), it seems I should have made a manual rename of the temp replay file between the races to save it.
Apart from that, we have successfully tested the timed race in AC and double sprint/reverse grid option. The results tracker worked well too, so we should used timed race from now on for our typical 60 minutes format.

Angelo, I can share your disappointement. The time zone for CMS server is central US time, so pick the city of Dallas, Texas (for instance) in your timezone converter to be sure.
Still, you were part of the action.

My races did not end well, spun a few times. I did have nice battles along the way, especially with Hernan in the first race. Got also good track time with Brette and Jon.
I found the Nascar layout interesting and very well suited for the car. However passing anyone was really tough, no real easy place even with faster pace, maybe except back straight and even then the kink brings cold sweats when 2-wide.

Anyhow the car is a blast, we should consider it at some point for upcoming season.

It is too good to be back in racing, p1 in qualy and a quiet race from minute 5 to the finish. The second one was the opposite, with Angelo in my back all the race, he push me at a high level, I did faster laps than qualy in that race, I lost concentration in the last 2 laps because I realize that the pace was faster enough to do the lap 20 and I was checking the fuel and went wide in the last corner, Angelo pass me and took the win, but we raced hard full 15 minutes. Looking forward for the next event, any news???

That is the thing, Patrice. The race didnt took place in any of the time zones supposed to happen.
I have the US central time configured. Currently it says that CDT is in place, instead of CST.
Qualy was suposed to start at 8:45 PM Central Time. I went to the server at 8:35 PM CDT...only Hernan was there. So I asked here on the Forum about news, but didnt get an answer. I figured..."well, this must be an hour later somehow...in the CST time".
So at 8:30 PM CST I went to the server...and race 1 was about to finish. This doesnt fit in either CST or CDT. That´s why Im confused.

I must add that Im using World Time Buddy for something like a year now, never missed a race here in the Historics or now in the NARS season because of time conflicts. So Im struggling to understand what I,ve got wrong.

EDIT: Just checked and the CDT Time I have is in line with Dallas and Texas current time. So, yeah....something went wrong.

@Angelo, the time zone (CDT) you were using was correct, when you first joined the server you shoul have stayed there. Instead you second guessed your time conversion and tbought you were 1 hr early, I think that was the mistake.

I ended up joining the first race late but as far as I could tell race had started on proper time as stated in pre-race.

I'm on vacation starting next week and I believe Michael is in a simialr situation. So the CMS Historics series will be off until at least middle of August.
I know the racing activity has been very low recently, but be assured the Historics series will be back.

What will we race next? There's nothing really decided yet for the next season. There are serious talks about a 70's F1 series (Ferrari vs Lotus). Apart from that there's this new Lola T70 and potentially a new official DLC pack with many iconic historical Ferraris (probably too late for Fall season). I also think a slower cars series (Escort? Alfa?) could be a blast as they tend to make very close battles. And we never gave much of a chance to the Maserati 250F... That being said we'll aim at keeping the same car for many weeks.

The main point to me is to make sure we put attractive combos togheter to keep the driver number at an interesting level throughout the season. The more the merrier as they say.
If you have sugggestions, please feel free to share in this thread or in a pm if you prefer, there's never too much good ideas.

You´re right, Jon. That would match more or less the time I joined and race 1 was finishing. Would be a bit behind of the scheduled time, but more or less there.

I don´t know the way you do it, but as you I´m not in the US and here we don´t change the time zone any time in the year, so sometimes the 8:45 time for qualy is 7:45 most of the time for me, this year is from march 12 to November 5, then the central time is the same with my time, I just check this page and that´ s it
