Default Historics Spring Season Master Post

This spring, the CMS Historics Series takes on the Assetto Corsa Porsche 917K in a short three race championship.

We will start with a break-in session at classic Silverstone, then work into the scene of classic endurance events at Spa and Le Mans.

Patrice has assembled another classic skin pack for us, full of real-life historic liveries. The skin pack looks great, and is a required download. (Note you can install either the standard or hi res pack, your choice).

For this series, fuel consumption will be doubled, so a pit stop will be necessary at each race. Tire wear remains at 1x, so changing of tires is optional.

Points will be scored per event using the following point system based on finish: 20,18,16,14,12,10,8,6,4,2,1.

    Apr 23 - 60's Silverstone (60 mins)
    May 7 - Spa (75 mins)
May 21 - Circuit de la Sarthe (90 mins)

    Skin Pack:
    Standard Res
    Hi Res

    Typical Race Schedule
    Practice: 8-8:45 p.m. Central Time (US) - 45 min
    Qualify: 8:45-9:00 p.m. Central Time (US) – 15 min
    Warmup: 9:00-9:05 p.m. Central Time (US) - 5 min
Race: 9:05 p.m. Central Time (US) - 60-90 min, requiring at least 1 pit stop.

Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to receive points.

Would it be possible to use the mandatory pit-stop feature and let the fuel consumption to 1x?

I prefer leaving everyone's options open. I think it's more interesting to get multiple strategies in the event- early, middle, or late pits, and seeing which one works out best.

But can't you set the pit window so that it does not restrict when do you pit (e.g. from 2nd to before-last lap)?

I don't think that makes it mandatory, though, does it? The reason we do 2x is to force a stop.

Yes it does, that's the idea. But I've never done that so far, we would need to test it.

Ok, thanks Mihaly- I'm willing to test it out, though with this short season I think we'll run as is at 2x. If we do classic f1 in the fall, I could see 1x fuel balance being a real benefit.
