Default Time Trial: April. Watkins Glen - AC Cobra - Assetto Corsa

For April we're going to throw the brutal AC Cobra around the Glen! Are you able to keep it on the black stuff, or will you end up in a barrier?

For this round we will be using Assetto Corsa. For the standings we will be using the in-game friends leaderboards.

Make sure you have me or David as a friend on steam, so we can see your times in the leaderboard!

Car: Shelby Cobra 427 S/C (game content)
Track: Watkins Glen Boot Classic (mod, get it here)

In order for the game to register your times you will have to run in hotlap mode, with penalties enabled:

When on track, go the the right of your screen to find the apps. Scroll all the way down and make sure you enable the friends leaderboard app:

With the app enabled, simply drag it somewhere on screen where it doesn't block your view, and start lapping! The app will automatically keep track of your (valid) times.

    Good luck, and have fun!

Sometimes. Probably (but it's ok, I always bring many backup cars to the track)

Should be good fun horsing the Cobra around here. Raced this track recently, for the first time in AC...this particular layout, actually
Thanks for hosting these time trials, Brian.

Thats why I love the historic cars in AC. They're tricky to drive at first but once you learn it they can be the most fun to drive for me. Especially the Maserati 250F
Anyone who owns the Ferrari 70th DLC I can also recommend taking the 312/67 out on this track. Lots of fun.

This thing is a death trap!!!

    I LOVE IT!

I'm not sure I'd ever put the S/C version on track in AC. Last and only time I had the standard on track I still didn't have my controls and ffb 100% sorted in AC. (The nature of this car actually forced me to go in and get a bit more detailed with some pedal stuff, so that's a plus to all this as well)

...at least they upgraded the brakes on the S/C!

Lot of fun to horse around (a lot of work too!)
I managed a 2:03.343 during my first outing.

(Also sent friends invites to you, Brian, and David as well as it seems I'd never friended him at Steam either)

Well I have been meaning to join this forum for a while but never actually did it. I heard about the hot lap challenge over here using The Glen so I figured I would give it a shot. I ran some laps last night and after some tuning was able to tame the ole Cobra a bit and put down some decent laps.

Here is a video of the best one which I think was a 2:01.88. The capture cut off the timing app. In any case it should be on Brian's leader board. I used to have a lot of fun when SimHQ used to run the challenges so I look forward to future combos regardless if it is my track or not.

I got a time. I was practicing with the chicane, and saw no other times. Oh, no chicane! But its dinner time so I quickly threw up a placekeeper time. Hopefully I can improve,
