Info for G25/G27 users
By default your G25/G27 controller settings are at 200 degrees of rotation. This is very sensitive - meaning very little input to turn the car. This is NOT like reality at all, but without the physics of being a real car, it's understandable that folks would want this. If you want to find a good compromise, set your controller rotation somewhere between 360 and 900.
Steering ratio:
Most normal street cars have approximately a 900 degree turning radius on the steering wheel - go out to your garage and check... I swear it's true
The steering ratio of a "street" miata is 15:1 - if you remove the power steering rack, it is 18:1 - google it, no fiction here.
This mod is for a spec"ish" miata with a 18:1 ratio
Now here's the formula to find realistic steering lock with a known steering ratio:
(degrees of ratio/2/known steering ratio=steering lock)
900/2/18=25
720/2/18=20
540/2/18=15
360/2/18=10
Now here's my sanity advice. If you can't stand the inability to turn the miata at low speed, simply increase the steering lock. The higher the steering lock, the less input needed on your controller to turn the physical wheels.
Here's another lovely tip for your controller.ini found somewhere's around here

36 lines down you'll find
Steering Wheel Range="200"
change this to whatever you set your controller at and your in cockpit steering will match your settings.

Thanks Simon, really good info
I use 720 on my G25, as I like to make it more realistic but the g25 is too small for real hand-over-hand. At 720 I put hands at 3 and 6, but can move a hand to allow a full rotation in either direction. We will talk about this a bit in my session next week (hint hint)
Also when installing the patch, beware the install directory. Make sure you match up the directory of you rfactor install to the zip file where you have "game data" and "rfm" directories. If you drill into the patch zip, you'll see.
Is this where I sign up for the DDP? The timings are not good for me but I will try my best to make it.

welcome Davy! Hope you can make a few

Heads up: on the patch, look at the folder structure in the archive, then make sure you get it matched up to your file structure.
