    Default Withdrawing from Competition

Sorry to say Im just not having fun with rF.
First of all its nothing personal or has anything to do with anyone here. Its a health reason.
As some of you guys know I suffered a mild stroke a 4 or 5 months ago..but noone really knows I had suffered a second one about a month and a half ago.I was told if I wanted to see my 35th b-day then I needed to cool out and remove any stress from my life..and start enjoying it.

But frequent CTD's have got the better of me and ruined any fun I was having with rF.I start it up and it runs fine,I can run lap after lap with no problem(Donington for example..would have stayed in the race longer but I lost my connection). Then I'll start it up later or wait until the next day and I get a mess of black screens, blue screens and flat out no notice freezes, which then usually leads to a headache and a stiff neck caused by stress..which Ive been warned about by the Doc.

Ive gotten updated drivers, turned off everything but the computer itself, even went back to my old drivers, because the new NVidia drivers made things look nicer..but then i started getting CTD's with GTR2 which never bombs on me.Cleaned out my machine, reset my RAM etc etc etc.It has something to do with the 1250 update/release/patch because before it rF ran smooth and since Ive had nothing but problems.Might just be a certain track/mod combination but I just dont need or want the headaches anymore.

So Im sorry to say fellas Im out for now.Maybe in a few months or so I can snatch a new vid card or something and return,or just wait until the next series rolls around. But again please dont anyone think its anything personal with anyone around here...this is one of the few places where Ive gotten along with everyone on and off the track. So Im kind of having a ruff time even writing this.

Being the kind of person who doesnt give up and is always willing to fight it out to the end,I really am left feeling like a quitter, but sometimes we all have to follow the saying 'Learn to run away today, and live to do it again some other day'..or something like that.

On a side note we still have our GTR2 server up running the SPEEDGT mod for GTR2 and everyone here is more then welcome to come run some laps anytime(we try to get together either on saturday/wednesday nights..or when everyone can get the time)Its a no stress environment(like here)but we're using GTR2 which I never have had any major issues with..and I just really like it more
So I hope to see some of you guys over that way until I get my machine fixed or to at least agree with rF.

Charlie, like Paul said take care of yourself first....there will always be racing to be had, and I hope to be able to come over and run in some of your races soon (if things chill out in my life!).

But keep things in place where you have it under control, and keep us posted here of course....we want to know what you're up to!!

I'll keep checking in over at the HRM Forums as well!

    Take care!!!

Charlie, you know that you are always welcome here be it on the forums, the track, or both. We certainly enjoy your being a part of the community. Feel free to race in the races that make sense to you to be a part of and dont feel obligated to race when a particular series, etc doesnt suit your personal situation. After all the races we do here are purely for fun! So you are welcome to join in anytime you feel like it.

I hope your health takes a positive rebound. My wife has dealt with a stroke just recently,so I sort of know what you are dealing with.I hope to see you in competition when you are ready.

    GOOD LUCK
