Tim Collier Wins at Fontana! Great Race - Stories Thread!!

Congrats to Tim Collier for a nice win at Fontana, it was a great race. Screenshots and results up soon! Stories here! We also had a drag race to the S/F line for 2nd with Anderson just Edging Proffer ... was lots of fun.

Congrats Tim! Great race. Our finish was not as close as I thought David. You had me by more than I thought. Still a great time though! Cya next week.

I had a great time tonight, and it was like the days when we raced NR2003, except that I won tonight!

The only reason I ran as well as I did was because of Philip's awesome setup work, along with David's tweaking and they came up with a great setup for tonight's race!

David, you were strong tonight buddy...that last restart was intense! Great job on your second place finish! Ricky just about had you at the end! Great run Ricky! Gunny, you didn't look like a rookie tonight and if it wasn't for your misfortune in that last run, who knows how this race would have ended. Rob you were tough too, and had a great line into the turns...sorry about your night.

Great job Tim! You really drove a great race to get that win! Was proud of you for sure. And I echo your comments on thanks to Philip for the team setup. I also took some of the work that Mike Tribble and Bob Dunlop had done on their base setups and incorporated it into Philip's base setup, and we came away with a winner. The car turned well and held up pretty good over a long run. I thought the racing tonight was pretty good and I really enjoyed. Had a great battle with Ricky on the Green/White/Checker and was fortunate to hold him off. Was cool stuff. Thanks again guys and congrats to Tim on the win and Ricky on a podium as well.

Congrats on the win Tim, I had fun while it lasted. It seems this year is the year for me to bite the wall. It has happened in every race to this point. Hopefully that will change.

I want to thank David and Ricky for their setups. However, it didn't help much

Actually, it did make the car more "drivable". However, the driver is awful.

I tapped the wall once or twice, which made it worse. I came in for a pitstop, and spun it going into the pits. Solo #1

When that caution came out, I went to pit, and drove right past my pitbox. I kept getting penalties for driving too slow, but I was afraid to goose it coming out of the pits.

Anyway, I really smacked the wall good, and was driving it into the pits to retire, and spun again.

I apologize for the 2 cautions, and I will get a little more practice this week!!!

It was just like the old days....loads of fun!!! How come those road boys don't drive the ovals?? It would be neat to have a full field on an oval like we did on the road course the other day!!!!
