Open Wheel Champ Car (CART) Comes to Fun Series - SIGN UP HERE!!!!!
First of all I want to thank everyone for voting and providing feedback in our Champion Fun Series Poll and Discussion Thread!!! We had some great ideas, and it was tough as I set down and tried to decide what to run next. In the end, I feel like I settled on one that should be new, different, and certainly lots of fun here as our next installment of the Champion Fun Series!!!! Champ Car (CART) 2006 World Series Mod for rFactor as our next Fun Series!!! We will have a 6-Race Season this Summer 2008. Details for the Series and Sign-ups are being taken in this thread.

For those of you who have been hiding under a rock and don't know what our fun series is, here is a quick overview. Fun races are just "that", purely for fun, laughs, and bragging rights. These events are an opportunity to run with friends (and make new ones) in a relaxed setting. You should not feel like you have to be a sim racing expert to participate in these, nor should you practice and prepare for hours on end for the race. The whole idea is to come and have a good time. We have been doing the series for over a year now, and have raced in some great cars and mods.
Ok, here is the info on the series, note this is subject to change and update, so please stay in tune with this thread for the latest information.
The Series Will Start up on Sunday June 15th ... and run for 6 weeks per the following schedule.
As noted the events will be on Sunday Nights. They will follow this schedule:
- Race #0 - TBD - Sunday June 8th - TEST Connection, etc ...
- Race #1 Long Beach - Sunday June 15
- Race #2 Cleveland - Sunday June 22
- Race #3 Portland (vanport) - Sunday June 29
- July 6 = off week
- Race #4 St. Petersburg - Sunday July 13
- Race #5 Edmonton - Sunday July 20
- Race #6 - Fontana (OVAL) - Sunday July 27
- practice at 9pm EST
- Qualifying at 10pm EST
- Race at approximately 1020pm EST
- Races Timed at 1 Hour (oval Race will be 150 miles)
- road course races will have standing start w/ formation lap
- oval race will have a rolling start behind pace car
- Black Flags Only (local yellows) on Road Courses
- Full Flags; including cautions for Oval Race
everyone will drive an included car from the mod - custom paint schemes will not be used in this seriesRaces will be hosted on Dedicated Server
Server will be listed at Champion Fun Series
