Default Fun Series 2012 starts 1/29 With the GSMF Porsche Cup Challenge

We'll start the 2012 series running the "Porsche Mobil1 Super Cup" from the German Sim Mod Foundation. The cars have a great feel I swear I can actually feel the rear end slide through a turn and then when I nail the throttle take off like a bat out hell. Something else I'd like to try for the first few weeks is; switch things up by staying at one track for a few weeks and switch Mods. Of course if that proves to be PITA we can revert to last year's scheduling model.
We'll start next Sunday at the Japanese Suzuka Circuit, with a 10 minute race on the east course, then 10 minutes on west course followed by a 30 minute main event on the, Japanese Grand Prix 2005 course, scoring will be winner take all in the main event. The other mods I have in mind include, the newly released NAGT 1.6, Legends and another "blast to drive" mod that I found over at RFC, "Hot Hatch".
Links to all these mods are provided below.

We welcome any and all CMS members at any experience level all you need do in register and download, Team-speak, the Mod, tracks and away we go! We also have an impromptu practice Wednesday evening around 8 PM central.

Over the years I have found our 9pm CST race time to be a good balance, considering multiple time zones, once you start to get much earlier it makes it prohibitive for the West Coast guys by example. It's not perfect, and when we do longer events (over 90 minutes) we will sometimes try to schedule a bit earlier, but our sort of general race time in the league for years (which has worked pretty well) is for the qual and race to start around the 9-930 CST time frame.

Also for me personally being in a position where I am going to be getting back involved more as a main admin on the fun series, this 2012, starting any earlier is difficult my house doesnt start settling down at all until 830'ish, to where I can get quiet time throughout the week/ including Sundays.

Do appreciate the feedback though for sure -- DA

The date says 12/29/12. Should that be 1/29 or 2/29?

Why not late night Saturdays so people can sleep in the next day after being up so late. Might get a lot more people showing up for races. Just a thought.
