Proudly presenting the next set of Champion Fun Series Races!!!

For those of you who have been hiding under a rock and don't know what our fun series is, here is a quick overview. Fun races are just "that", purely for fun, laughs, and bragging rights. These events are an opportunity to run with friends (and make new ones) in a relaxed setting. You should not feel like you have to be a sim racing expert to participate in these, nor should you practice and prepare for hours on end for the race. The whole idea is to come and have a good time. We have been doing the series for over a year now, and have raced in some great cars and mods.

I am proud to present the next set of races, in the wildly popular and insanely fun ORR mod from MadCowie!

Guys, I am dead serious, if you dont get addicted to these things and laugh your ass off while racing them, you just dont like to have fun ...

It's that simple. So, lets get our biggest turnout thusfar and have a blast with
these.

With our ILMS races running on Thursdays ... we've moved these events to Saturday nights.

This thread has all the stuff you need to get started, so begin downloading and post questions if you have them.

Also please sign up in this thread and indicate your plan to race.
Note in the interest of simplicity we will not have custom paint skins for this series. Everyone will simply pick a default truck from the mod.

Races will be on Saturday Nights according to the following race night schedule

SERVER INFORMATION

Listed as "Champion Fun Series" in the rFactor Multiplayer Lobby and the password is speedzone (all lower case).

Server open at 8pm CST/9pm EST for Practice - 1 hour

Qualifying for 10 minutes at 9pm CST/10pm EST

Warmup for 5 minutes at 9:15 pm CST/10:15pm EST

Green Flag at approximately 9:20pm CST/10:20pm EST

Races will be timed at 30 minutes in length which will typically be between 20-25 laps

Standing Starts

50 percent damage

black flag and local yellows only

I'll make it when I can, however it took me 2 sick days this past week just to get rfactor re-installed on my system, and the GT series loaded.

Anyone remember Insane Racing? From about 2000?
It was just before I got into Sims, and I think you controlled the offroad trucks with just a keyboard, or joystick..
Man me and a coworker used to stay for hours after work running those.

BTW, David why do I need ORR Trucks v1.0? Isn't it all in ORR2 2.1?
Just curious. I ran some "laps" at Chula last night with 2.1 and I don't have v1.0...do I need it?

Terry good question, Not sure I know the official answer. I had assumed that the 1.0 was a prerequesite for the 2.1. I already had 1.0 installed. If I were you I would install them both to be safe until we know for sure. I am thinking if nothing else that will ensure you have all the proper paint schemes and stuff for the trucks.
