Brent Jarvis continued his winning ways in the ARCA series by starting from the pole and leading the majority of laps on his way to a win tonight in the 150-lap event that saw 8 cars start, and only 4 finish.
Brent Jarvis would start on the front row with Cole McGillis, and the two of them would pull away at the first of the race which saw a long green flag run. While Brent was running his pace, Cole had troubles with his car and cut down a tire. bob Dunlop, running in his first ARCA race tonight, would start from the fourth position and move into second and swap the lead with Jarvis on several occasions throughout the night.
The first retiree from the race was Ed Sedlacek, who on Lap 2 pulled it behind the wall with an unknown issue. The field ran under green until Lap 43 when Ray Johnson would end up backed into the T3 wall, ending his night and bunching the field back up. During the long green run, Jeff Winters and Nathan Lloyd had worked their way from the rear of the field into third and fourth place.
After the pit stops, which left everyone needing another stop for fuel to finish, the field went green for over 40 laps until Tim Collier caught the inside wall on the front stretch and stuck the nose of his car into the water barrels at the start of pit road. This would bunch up the field again and ensure everyone of having enough fuel to see the end.
The restart had the field racing like there were 10 to go, not 50, and the lead changed hands several times throughout the run. Jeff Winter, who had been contending for the win, left the field and went to the hauler on Lap 123 with an electrical problem (dreaded disconnect). The caution would come out again soon thereafter from an incident in T2, and the field pitted and all 5 remaining cars were very still much in contention for the win.
The final caution would come out on Lap 132 for a spin by Cole Mcgillis, who suffered from multiple tire failures throughout the night. McGillis parked his car behind the wall and climbed up into the press box to call the action in the remaining laps of the race.
Brent Jarvis led Bob Dunlop to the green on the restart, and Jarvis made an incredible start putting distance between himself and Dunlop going into Turn 1. Nathan Lloyd would close in on Bob Dunlop a few laps later to contend for second place, but his car was loose on exit and he followed Dunlop to the checkered flag.
This is Jarvis' third win of the current ARCA season, and another impressive run showing the ability to run at any pace. Bob Dunlop's first start was also impressive, seeing time at the point of the field and contending for the win throughout the night. Nathan Lloyd rounded out the Top 3, and had an exceptional night for his team. Tim Collier finished 4th, the last car running at the end.
